Exclamation HELP!!! cannot get alarm off after CD43 install

Searched though 5 pages & could not find the answer to this:

I disconnected the battery to install my CD43.

When I reconnect it, the OEM alarm goes off.

I found a switch under the dash and thought it was the killswitch but it does nothing.

All I have for this car are two keys. I don't have a FOB or anything else. How can I get this damn alarm to turn off? Even if I let it run its cycle, the car still will not start.

You need the fob. If you don't have one, time to get a non-factory alarm so you can use it properly.

You can TRY this (it works with most aftermarket alarms, dunno about yours): put the key in the ignition, and turn it to full accessory and off 5 times fast, but on the 5th time, leave it on accessory. If the alarm stops, it's in sleep mode.

Is there some fuse I can pull to disable the alarm but that won't prevent the car from starting? I looked in the fuse box under the hood but there is nothing that appears to be labeled "alarm" or anything similar.

Otherwise I will try the 5 key turn method in the morning when it won't wake the neighbors & see if that works.

Try disconnecting battery, turn ignition on then reconnecting battery.
There is actually a way to do it, its in the ews alarm handbook

I tried both of these suggestions but to no avail.

The original owner ended up getting back to me and it turns out the alarm I have is aftermarket (and of course, he no longer has a working key for it). So anyway, once I get home I'm going to remove the aftermarket alarm and this should hopefully solve my problems.

Instead of removing it why not get the serial number off it and see if you can get a fob for it

Because alarms are pointless and irrelevant.
