3M DI-NOC & 3M 1080 (new) vinyl lots of very detailed pics

Sup sup, so i finally got my samples of the new 3M 1080 series vinyl's that just came out! stuff looks great! also some pics of it vs. the current 3M DI-NOC products as well.

Pros of new 1080:
-New matte silver &military green color
-One of the nicest looking/feeling matte color vinyls i've seen/felt.
-Comes in 60"cuts vs. 3M DI-NOC only comes in 48" cuts (no more seams on large hoods like BMW/Benz/SUV)
-Slides like cloth on glass when installing until you are ready to press down, -Does not require water to instal.
-New colors of carbon fiber, glossy black n anthracite. both look great!

you can also see the brushed aluminum di-noc in the pics too!

check it out! i tried my best to get good pics of this stuff with a crapy point n shoot. but i think this is the most detailed set of pics for comparisions!

i am in no way affiliated with 3M or IDSfinishes.com, i just use this product heavily n i know guys on the forum are always asking about quality vinyl products to use.

I'm wondering what it would look like if I wrapped my roof in the silver carbon fiber. If it blended pretty well till you're up close I think it might be pretty cool.

yup, you can order samples online from various sellers, get a sample and slap it on and see what you think.

you would use:

3m di-noc ca418, hexis has a couple silver cf's, oracal 975 clear transparent cf, and i think theres a bunch of chinese no name silver cf's out there...

As far as CF vinyls go, that's one of the best I've seen. Take a short video clip.

Personally, the Hexis "4D" is the best CF vinyl I've used hands-on, but it has the look of dry CF. No second clear layer over the top.

But on exterior use, I'd say that one is pretty good. Nice find.

Without a doubt, yes. From 5 feet back you can't spot a good vinyl vs the real thing, but any closer and you can ALWAYS tell. Vinyl also only lasts 4-5 years exposed to moisture and the elements anyhow, and then has to be peeled, fully cleaned of adhesive residue, and re-wrapped.

Plus there's just certain applications where you want the added strength of actual cf.

Haha seriously? Of course they will. This may be hard to believe, but some people use it for its intended purpose.
