I'm seeing all these progression threads and i should probably do the same, rather than start a new thread every time i do something.
I'll start with when i first got it back in April!
1985 325e Sedan.
bought it with 68k rebuild miles on it, super clean. (only reason i bought it, i normally would have held out for a 325i, even a 318.)
The front two wheels had major curb rash cause the PO wedged himself into something... it was weird
SO I got a good deal on some Beyerns that I couldn't refuse.
Then I did a bunch of maintenance like the radiator hoses, valve cover gasket, etc. And cleaned it up a little by tucking the bumpers and removing the fog lights since they didn't work.
Also got a new ZHP shift knob and shift boot, and replaced shifter bushings! Feels like tits!
THEN, I got into an accident. Basically, what happened was some 16 year old girl who couldn't have more than 1 person in the car with her, had 4. In a rental car that she had to be 25 to drive. Stopped short around a turn and I rear ended her. Everything was fine until one of her bitch friends called the cops. Cop gets there and says since it was in a parking lot there's nothing he could do. Nothing with insurance was filed because if she did, she would be screwed for all the people/rental car thing.
But now I had THIS to deal with:
Wasn't TOO bad, I popped it out and repainted it and now you can only tell when you look at certain angles. One result though, was the bumper became untucked. the side that got damaged popped in, the other popped out. So I just pulled it out to make it even, and it's grown on me. Not sure if i'm going to put it back in...
And FINALLY I got around to putting the H&R sports on the car. I bought it with Bilstein shocks, and it feels awesome. I may try and go lower in the rear though. My camera decided it wasn't in the mood to focus, so here are some blurry pictures till I get some better ones with my new lens.
And most recently, I picked up the top end of a b25 motor to do a "budget stroker". Basically I'm using an "i" head, electronics, etc. but still using the flat top pistons. I'm also going to buy a set of eBay headers and do straight pipes since I don't have to pass emissions. I may in the future go boost, or do custom pistons and 'i' rods. But right now I'm just having trouble taking the damn thing apart. I also gotta find a 3.25 or 3.73 diff
I'll have pictures of the head and maybe the car tomorrow
Acolella,
That is one sweet-looking car. I particularly like the impact strip filler piece in the front bumper; I just did this update to ours and I really like it. And we, too, wanted a a coupe but settled on a sedan due to the extremely clean condition.
Say . . . you wouldn't still happen to have those nasty old basketweave wheels and non-functioning fog lights just sitting around . . . would you? If so, I'll be happy to haul 'em off for you . . . heh heh.
Seriously, I'm trying to upgrade our car with OE-type stuff, so please don't throw anything away -- I'll pay you for your cast-offs. PM me.
Jeff

Thank you
Thanks, it doesn't look that much lower right now. It still needs to settle...
I'm keeping the wheels for sliding/emergency set
I'll that.. We'll see how low it is when it settles though.
Thanks, I can't wait either.
Hopefully, I'll be painting the i intake and vc today. I'll post pictures later today.

Thank you! I had the same sentiment at first, but it was just too clean to pass up.
I have other things to worry about right now
The rear is tucked! The front was tucked but popped out.. idk if i want to put it back
clean sedan! Looks really nice! keep up with that maintenance.
I'm slapping an 'i' head on it.
Will do!
I NEED HELP: I was taking the rocker shaft out of the head, about a quarter of the way out it stopped. It refuses to go out anymore, won't turn, won't go back in. Any one know what to do?
Pretty sure that either my head is warped, or the rocker shaft is bent. I'm HOPING it's the rocker shaft because i know for a sure the engine the head came from had a timing belt failure.
How should i get the rocker shaft out?
On a brighter note, valve cover and intake are done!
Wrinkle black with M colors
i gotta delay this project even more now... need a new cylinder head
I was just hammering the rocker shaft out and shit broke off... oh well i'm pretty sure it was warped anyways. and i only paid about $20 for it.

Been busy with school and losing my job, so not too many updates. Just one actually..
Blacked out grilles and volvo lip (it's off now)
E34 e-brake handle and leather boot. Matches the shift boot awesomely.
how did you take off the accordion thing for the e-brake?
not really.. people expect to get $200 for a head that still needs to be machined, etc. just cause it's a popular mod, it's ridiculous. I'm not going to swap heads until I go boost. For now I think I'm going to swap the 'i' cam and springs and stuff i have laying around in there.
you just yank it off
Update: just got some head
Working on getting rockers and a few new valves.
I am selling the other camshaft and double valve springs, so if you want them, buy it here.
