thought i would make a thread for this so it didnt get lost in the other one...
the install is super easy, intentionally, but here are a few tips to make sure you get it prepped and lined up proper.
first get some rubbing alcohol...
this will not only remove dirt, but also wax so the VHB grabs on good.
wipe down the whole area well
peel backing off tape (durrr)
now heres where to pay attention for the helpful hint of lining this thig up...
there is roughly an 1/8th inch border on each side that follows the exhause ports, but the bottom lines up completely flush. to make sure you get it ceterered properly put you hands like this (bellow) and use your thumbs to feel the exhaust cut outs and your fingertips to line up the bottom flush.
line up bottom with it "hinged" down so no tape make contact
keeping your fingers registering the bottom swing it up and let the tape tack itself
press down firmly but not excessively between the fins...
DO NOT press on the fins. they're on there, but no need to stress them.

Thanks for the picture tutorial!
I sure hope this looks good with the Dinan exhaust. Just got mine fully polished and installed. It would be a shame if they didn't go well together, but the Dinan mufflers are so much bigger, making it look like they hang very low, plus the tips point and extend down even further compared to the fins.
If anyone Dinan owner gets their's today, please post pics, or I will do so when I get mine in the mail tomorrow.

the lowness of the fins is more a relation to the lowness of the sides of the bumper rather than the exhaust. if you notice, the middle of the ///M bumper is higher than its sides. that said, it should look great with any exhaust that looks great on the bumper itself.

Hope my dual 3" tips fit in the stock opening.... if not I am definitely shaving the outside and not the inside.
Thanks for the run through, even though it looks like it is pretty straight forward.

Cool mang, thanks! Out of curiosity, did you send these out with the tape on it or do I need to go get some?

Awesome man, simple and effective DIY.
You going to be producing any more/new parts? I have a few ideas I will be going forward with at some point in the future, if you wanted to talk about potential new parts get in touch, I would be more than happy to share any ideas with you and later on even prototypes should you decide to take my part to production. A nice E36 LTW style lower splitter?

Any long term testing for heat effects on the plastic, or is it a material that is not temperature sensitive?

Just ordered one (plus a get stupid button cover). I'm very excited to see some fresh products for the Coupe! Any thoughts of a new take on the rear roof spoiler, or the factory spoiler that ran across the rear hatch/hips of the car?
I need to do some minor bodywork on the front bumper and a respray before I order a front splitter or mini-splitters, but again, I am excited to see what the neverdone crew is up to.

Does anyone have a picture of this diffuser on an imola red coupe? I remember a whole thread on this but unable to find it. Please help!
ditto.. m coupe in red pics?
The ones I've seen__a few now__stay stuck to the car well enough, but the individual blades seems to either be already missing one, or are too easily knocked off. My recommendation would be to add a couple mechanical fasteners (small gauge screws) to each blade before installing. Only recourse after installation is to glue it on again, and I'd bet on limited success.
I'd imagine it would be about the same procedure to remove the M badge or similar. Slide some dental floss between the diffuser and bumper. Apply some light heat (probably from the rear of the bumper - not to the diffuser) as needed to soften the glue. Goo gone to remove residue from the bumper and diffuser once removed. Fresh double sided tape applied to stick it on your new bumper.
