Will the group buy be run through this thread, another, or your site?

This is awesome. Time to start coming up with the "forgiveness speech"... still easier than asking for permission.

I can't wait to see a full set mounted. Job well done!

There are some other BMWs that these wheels would look sick on. Spread the word or just drop a pic of them mounted in other sections. The pic would be worth a thousand words

haha Yeah you have two options...
    1. Practice the forgiveness speech -or-
    2. Start buttering her up

As far as the "group buy", its preliminary. I'm not taking money, just gauging interest, and based on the number of people we can do in one production run, we can have an idea where this is going to land before there is even any financial committment or deadlines.

The main reason for me pre releasing pricing with the idea of the group buy is to allow the most time for people to prepare for the purchase.

There will be a completely separate thread for the actual group buy. This will not commenced until after I have my personal sets of wheels done my self.

I agree with fmcfad01. I'm pretty much IN if we can get the lowest tier GB pricing. Even second to lowest I can maybe swing that... but over $5k will be hard to manage for me.

I guess I'll start the list here:

Literally, and its never smelled SOOOOO GOOD. We are over the moon. The fitment to the hoops is vacuum fit, as is the hubcentricity. The machining resolution is much better than the original pics we received. Centercap fitment is just right, but could use some adjustments to make the center cap a bit easier to install.

Kevin and I are having a great day.

Lol. My wife came out to the garage and asked "so whats so great about these wheels that makes them different from any other wheel?"

She is a sweetheart, and with some patience she gets it enough to likely not ask again.

Well, when I got my Works, my wife couldn't understand why. She has repeatedly said that the original wheels are much better. Now she's really in for a treat!

Fronts are 19x9 et38 built on 1.5" outer and 7.5" inner stepped lips (the step is there, just no horizontal section because the lack of depth on the 1.5" outer.

Rears are 19x11.5 et19 built on 4" outers and 7.5" inner stepped lips.

I have verified that running a 315 25 19, 11.5" rear wheel on that tire, its fits like a glove. Going with the 18", because of the higher profile and larger O.D. of the 315 30 18 tires, a 11" wide is really as wide as you want to go, otherwise excessive rubbing will occur. The offset will still be et19 on my 18"x11" rear wheels.

The wives seem to have a good sense of whats right and wrong, they just don't understand it.

If a 18" 'Stepped lip version' will be available sometime, what would be the best width for front Wheels which clears my 355x32mm Alcon BBKs ?
Also if 18" stepped lip version rears will be available sometime, 18x11" wheels would clear rear fenders without rubbing (without any modification) ?

This list is obviously in no particular order but didn't to forget "The Jeff" from the list. We are already one away from the first $500 drop... (assuming the current list all actually commits and buys)

They are gorgeous!!! And now that you have them in hand and roughly mocked up... can we get a picture showing the whole car? Or are you waiting to get them actually "sitting" properly and not drooping to do that?

Sending out my plastic centers to see how they clear your alcons would be a solid start. In order to do a 18" stepped lip, the only way its going to happen is with a 2 piece welded wheel. The inner diameter of the one piece hoop is the perfect diameter to simply shave off the bolt ring on our wheel center, then weld it in. No bolts would exist. The thing is, currently, in 18" stepped lips 2 piece version hoops, there isn't a 9.0" or even a 8.5" wheel available. There is 8", but that doesn't interest me at all, and the rear goes from a 10" or a 12". No 11". So, basically, if you interested in running 8" and 10" wheels, it works. We haven't been able to find a quality product that gives us the 9"/11" combo, which is perfect for our cars and doesn't limit any width of tire you want to run from a 245-265 in the front, and from a 285-315 in the rear.

Yes, I just can't believe how the wheel turned out exactly like I wanted and described in my first post. It looks like a Roadstar version of my all time favorite OEM wheel, the Porsche Speedline 3.6 turbo wheel. The first photoshop that was performed, the same thing, it literally looks like that wheel came to life.

I am very excited to see one of these in full mirror polish, and in OEM silver. I have one of these pics set as my screen on my phone. Its all just very exciting. Wheels are not taken apart, and put back in their boxes, ready to ship back to Cali to get their finishing touches put on them. I will be ripping out 18 more centers quickly, getting them finished off.

Yes, Kevin and I will be out there in two separate coupes. I will have Steve's coupe for the summer. Its too hot there in the summer, and he wants the new wheels, upgrade brakes and suspension, and these wheels also. So, Mine will be getting back on the road, complete with the new turbo setup. I will also be painting it soon, as I finally found someone locally who I would trust to get it right and looking the way it should and deserves to.

If the sets have been pumped out by August, and there are no critical errors with the wheel set up on my coupe, I'll prolly be sporting a set.

I'm going to need to figure out a finish to separate mine from the pack.

    Glow in the dark?
    Neon pink?
    Each spoke a different color?

Provided I get a set mine will probably end up shadow chrome at some point. But I also like the idea of a nice bronze color... just not on my car

Dude, I dunno. Estoril doesn't go with much.

This is coming along. Let me take a moment and add that anyone interested should be firmly interested and solidly able to put funding down.
