BMW at SEMA 2015

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) in Las Vegas is regarded worldwide as the leading trade show for customization and sports tuning. The new products presented at SEMA to trade experts influence the entire scene and set trends. At this year’s SEMA show, November 3- 6 2015, BMW is presenting a selection of distinctively sports-oriented BMW M Performance Parts to the trade fair audience. Located on the lower level of South Hall (Stand 40247), trade fair visitors will see a BMW M Performance modified BMW M4 Coupé as well as the first BMW M Performance Parts for the new BMW M2 Coupé.

The BMW M4 Coupé is regarded as the ultimate driving machine and the benchmark for sporty driving dynamics in its class. This is supported by its motor racing style appearance and can be further enhanced through the new BMW M Performance aerodynamic components. The front inserts in high-end carbon fiber (CFRP) and the BMW M Performance front trim grille in high-gloss black give the face of the BMW M4 Coupé an even more striking expression. The lateral BMW M Performance side sill attachments made of polyurethane (PUR) with the new “M Performance” inscription emphasize the dynamic elegance of the BMW M4 Coupé. BMW M Performance exterior mirror caps in carbon fiber finish, the lateral BMW M Performance side gills in high-gloss black in the M gill elements and BMW M Performance motor racing stripes applied to the body perfectly support the dynamic side view.

The rear of the car, a BMW M Performance carbon fiber diffuser with three strikingly shaped bars derived from motorsports and a newly designed BMW M Performance through-flow carbon fiber rear spoiler highlight the powerful rear section of the BMW M4 Coupé. The new “M Performance” inscription on the lateral end plates of the rear spoiler as well as the motorsports stripes on the spoiler constitute a further distinctive visual highlight.

These attachment parts, some elaborately crafted by hand, not only give the BMW M4 Coupé a distinctive and high-end appearance, they also provide a perfect match for the car’s highly expressive design. All BMW M Performance aerodynamic components are harmonized with the car’s airflow response, so they ensure optimized aerodynamic performance. The adjustable BMW M Performance coilover suspension likewise enhances sporty driving pleasure. The lowered suspension intensifies the distinctively sporty look of the BMW M4 Coupé as well as a more dynamic ride feel.

Not long after the world premiere of the new BMW M2 Coupé, BMW now presents BMW M Performance Parts at SEMA 2015 which were developed especially for this compact high-performance athlete. BMW V10 powered Lotus Exige

The S85 V10 that propelled the E60 BMW M5 was more than enough engine for the two-ton M car. With 500 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque it could push the M5 from zero-to-60 mph in just over four seconds, and also give it a top speed of 205 miles per hour, once the electronic limiter was de-limited.

THE 2015 LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOW

The BMW X5 xDrive40e the company’s first eDrive Sports Activity Vehicle, charts the next chapter of BMW’s ongoing EfficientDynamics initiative. Benefitting from the groundbreaking work with BMW i on electromobility, the X5 xDrive40e combines the company’s award-winning 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine with an electric motor integrated into its 8-speed automatic transmission. The BMW i8 is the first eDrive 2+2 sports-car from BMW. It sits at the pinnacle of the BMW i lineup of visionary vehicles which are purpose built from the ground up as electric and hybrid electric, constructed primarily from lightweight carbon fiber. Currently in showrooms and priced at $140,700 plus Destination & Handling, the MY2016 BMW i8 features Laser Lights available as an option for the first time in the US, enhancing its athletic design and sleek, low slung exterior. The BMW i8 operates with extremely high fuel efficiency boasting a US EPA rating of 76 MPGe combined. It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds on the way to an electronically governed top speed of 155 mph.

The BMW i3 is the first fully electric vehicle from BMW Group. Constructed from the ground up primarily from lightweight carbon fiber, the BMW i3 features a 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque hybrid-synchronous electric motor that propels the vehicle from 0-60 mph in approximately 7.2 seconds. The BMW i3 is electrified by a 22-kWh lithium-ion battery, will travel approximately 81 miles of emission-free driving. The BMW i3 offers interior space comparable to the legendary BMW 3 Series on a shorter overall body. Its 32.4-foot turning circle and a relatively long wheelbase make it agile and engaging to drive, yet ideally suited to driving in dense urban areas. With a combined rating of 124 MPGe, the BMW i3 is the most efficient electric as rated by the US EPA. Currently in showrooms, the BMW i3 has a base MSRP of $41,350, before any federal or state incentives, plus $995 for Destination & Handling.
