heh i used to have to do similar things in animation class. i worked with macromedia flash though..

as well as the feature of being able to click the lines and curve them and crop off the ends if they over lapped... i donno if the program you guys are using allows that. try out flash like i mentioned and create what is known as an onion skin... or a transparent layer on top of the original layer then use your line tool to draw all the heavy lines and let each line overlap. don't concentrate too much on perfection of the lines, because later you are going to go back and delete all the jaggies you left. it makes it easier if you leave them too long. then click each section of line you made and you can manipulate the curve of the line to make it match that of your subject...

try it out. i should do one just to show you guys what i'm talking about.

Why...Its not about drawing a car with a pen tool its about cartooning a car...I do the outline in illistratur fill it with the solid color in photoshop then draw the rest in with the pen/brush tools *as seen on the mcoupe*
