Yo, Kyillest, Ima let you finish, but the JZ motors are the best of all time.

AKA 2014'S CONTINUATION OF THE WORST BUILD THREAD OF ALL TIME

    Part 1 (2010):

    http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...-Drift-Project

    Part 2 (2011):

    http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d-Media-Thread

    Part 3 (2012):

    http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...e-Limo-Updates

    Part 4-sorta (2013):

    http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...-half-quot-kit

I did a hg on the S52 and went through the car a bit, fixed some stuff, tidied some stuff up, broke two clutches....which brings us to now, and the reason for the thread title.

I sold my motor to Kyillest. He bought the curse, and managed to get himself stuck and pop a tire as he was unloading it back at his house after a 3 hour drive. GUUD LUCK BUD. You're gonna need it.

    So I bought this thing:

    From this guy:

    http://jzxproject.com/bbs/index.php?showtopic=6525

    Because the motor looks mint:

And he was awesome to work with through the whole process. I got jerked around so many times looking for a motor it was refreshing to be able to talk to a normal human being that actually WANTED to sell his stuff.

Anyways, it came with a bunch of stuff I don't need:

    -Front sump oil pan setup
    -W58
-ACT HD pressure plate with brand new 6-puck sprung disc

All of which is for sale, as I don't need/want any of it. Inquire within.

Got some mounts from someone on here, I forget who. But they're the smurf blue phillipino mounts, which I hear mixed things about but we'll see.

First I have to find an R154. I guess. I'd really like to use the ZFs I have laying around, but I guess those are for sale too since everyone seems to think its not worth it, and I don't have the fab skills to pull it off reliably.

    Plans:

Once motor+trans is in the car I plan to hack up the rad support and work out a high-mid-mount IC setup.
Going to follow Sal's lead and use a generic Summit 3-pass aluminum rad, and Drift Motion's oil cooler kit to keep stuff cool because nobody likes an overheating drift car.
Motor also came with JDM 440cc injectors...probably going to grab some USDM 550s from a guy. Tune it with the MapEcu 1 and stock JZZ30 ECU. Shooting for 350whp, hoping I can hit that at under 20psi.

The turbo is supposedly an 9cm HY35...but it sure looks like an HX35 to me. Gotta figure out how to tell the difference and see what I'm actually working with here. Came with a SICK downpipe, Tial 38mm WG with a SICK dump tube, hoping to be able to use all of these cool things in the E36. Manifold is some Chinese manifold, but the previous owner reinforced it really well, and Tig'd on the turbo flange. It all looks really nice.

Other than that I plan on either stripping the harness or doing a whole new panel/harness painless style. We'll see once I start pulling the old harness out. Probably going to hold off one more year on a cage as most of the tracks I tandem at don't require it. But who knows.

    Then, do more of this

    With less of this

    With sounds like this

    - - - Updated - - -

After looking at this, it's definitely an HY35

    http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/d...s-t253869.html

which is basically an HX35 compressor with a smaller turbine wheel/hotside

    sooooo....mint?

You don't need a MAP ECU for 350 whp, you can get that by messing with the boost controller and watching AFR. You don't even need a boost cut controller.

Glad you finally got this thing man, torqueless 1jz master race reporting in.

I would be very interested in building a 1jz to zf bellhousing adapter. They do not make a foam mock up block do they? Any reason why this wouldn't seem plausible? Our transmissions are very stout IMO. Any cheap versions of us jz motors that have the same bolt pattern? I don't intent to run one, I would just think it would be appealing to the public and I have the resources to produce them.

^ 2jz-ge's can be had for a couple hundred bucks out of nearly any junkyard in the states.

I have two E36 clutches, and an e36 flywheel to donate to the cause. Need to make this happen asap though. Gotta get a trans in the car and start mocking stuff up!

Are they fairly stout? I might pick one up then. My motor is getting pulled once more to clean up the bay real soon here(e36) so I might just have to find a 2jz. I bet there is enough interest and I can make it fairly easily.

2jz-ge (Non VVTi) has the same internals as the turbo minus the oil squirters and It also has higher compression due to the headgasket and pistons. 2jz-ge's can be pushed nearly as far on the stock block as the turbo motors.

Got the motor to the shop finally. Lots of little stuff to do.

    Find a trans.
    Buy a clutch.
    Put motor in car.
    Wire it.
Figure out where the rad/ic/oil cooler is gonna go.
    Do burnouts.

Sucks, I don't think I'll be able to use the downpipe Too wide and junk. I think I'll also clock the turbo and/or have a new elbow welded on the compressor housing as it's just longer than necessary.

    Whatever, we'll see.

Sounds like a good recipe for e85 and boost. I will try and find one soon.

I have a lot to do, the more I think about it the more I realize I should probably make a list.
