New brake lines are on as well as exhaust. Finally the car sounds like it should thanks to a UUC exhaust upgrade.

One more quick prep weekend and then we'll be at VIR for a full 3 days Feb 15-17. I can't wait to get back on track!

How do you like the brass caliper guides? Does debris get caught up in them without a dust cap?

Haven't had but a couple minutes of seat time with them so far. Track prepping the car Saturday, autox at VMP in Richmond on Sunday, then VIR for 3 days in 2 weeks. I'll update after that hopefully with some results.

I've had mine for a while and I like them, I haven't noticed any different feel with them really but my pads/rotors seem to wear evenly. Everytime I go to the track I have to put in my track pads so I inspect them when I do that and will take them out and put a little grease on them to make sure they aren't frozen up.

Other than when changing to track pads do you grease them up frequently for street driving?

Nope, they always seem fine I only grease them just as a preventative thing.

Great thread. All these kool track builds is making me want to turn my turbo'd m3 into somewhat of a track car.

I hate living where it's cold (as I come in from blowing 7" of snow off the driveway). Good luck at VIR.

Just got back from VIR and it was a great weekend overall with some very interesting weather. Friday was perfect weather and I got tons of track time. Saturday it was raining early and that turned to snow right as I was going out for my first session. We ended up calling it quits for the day once it kept snowing and conditions worsened. Today was cold, dry, and windy but the track warmed up a little and it turned out to be a solid day.

The car did well all weekend. I discovered warped rotors in my first session this morning. I think it happened because of the heat from braking and then the extreme cold air being fed to the brakes via the ducting. I swapped out rotors this morning and taped the ducts and all was well from then on. We also found oil leaking onto the trailer on the way home so we need to figure out where that's coming from.

    Enough talking, time for pictures.

    Rain turning to snow

And now big flakes that persisted most of the day

After Dad's second session, the car looked like this and I decided to wait until Sunday for more seat time

Didn't take a lot of video this weekend but this is from Friday morning. Managed to squeeze out a 2:24.

Great build!...Subscribed...Cool that you can build with your father. Post #65, not sure if it's my eyes or the camera, but is the car leaning to the right?

I think it's an optical illusion with the lines at the bottom of the picture. The car sits pretty evenly.
