It is Factory Sterlingsilbermetallic It almost ended up black. I decided at the last minute to do a single stage urethane instead of base clear due to the kind of action the car will be seeing. Honestly... the look of car is deeper than the factory base clear was! The suggestion came up to paint it black since it was going to be single stage and for a few hours it was sitting on the idea. But the car started out silver... I loved it and I ended up keeping it. It REALLY looks good to me like this.

I will have more pics as I have more progress. Where it is sitting it really hard to get a good shot of it. I hope to have it in a different spot in the shop soon.

Right now, I am finishing up torquing the head back down and I hope to have the turbo and exhaust side bolted down tonight. I have some re work on the intake side due to the redesign of the ITB's so there is still plenty to do. After I get what I can done without the intake work being done I will have to put the car on my lift and put in my new DSSR shifter shaft and finish up the drivetrain. Still waiting on braking parts to trickle in... so the car won't be driveable for a couple weeks yet. Not to mention that my wheels are currently at Forgeline with the rears being stretched to 10.5 for my wider rubber.

Here is a pic shortly after I started to put things back together. Bear in mind the car was nearly completely stripped. Only the headliner, dash and carpet was in the interior and only a short block in the engine bay when it went up to the body shop.

Here is how it stands tonight... I'm going HOME!

And the ITB's are just sitting there... but if you look back, you'll see they are basically totally rebuilt and upgraded THANKS KEVIN from EXTRUDABODY!!!

I've seen some great paint jobs from Maaco. Nice looking build.

    Thanks Anson!

Sooo... some progress has been made!

    freshly painted hood!

    Intake plenum Ver 2.0

First one was basically fine, but there was a redesign of the ITB's and so it kinda necessitated a different plenum. This one is not only simpler, but I believe it will flow better as well. I haven't checked its volume, but it is similar to the old one, but with a tad more volume I suspect. The inside used the same plenum plate with the rounded inlets in case you were wondering.

For other news... Big thanks to Michelin for sponsoring our effort with a set of Pilot Sport 2 tires! So, 2 245-35-18, and 2 315-30-18 tires are on their way here and will be taken to Forgeline who widened my rears to 10.5" for the larger rear rubber! Also it should be said another thanks to KC at APR for sponsoring me for the wing! My GTC200 wing should be here on Monday! So things are really starting to fall into place now!

The fab work on the intake is most impressive (from a non-fab guy).

Ok, folks.... No more updates until the complete unveiling on SATURDAY at the Tire Rack Street Survival School in Cincinnati!

All I can say is that things have come together and we can't wait to get the car back on the road! You'll all just have to wait till after the weekend to see the completed car!

Amazing. I always dreamed of doing the exact same thing. Getting a cheap E30, throwing a widebody on, M52 Turbo, etc. Makes for an affordable yet fun/fast car. The beauty of it all is that no E30 M3's were harmed in it's creation lol. Awesome color by the way.

Thanks! I think it is honestly better flowing and more equalized than my original as well as stronger and more volume. Should be better all around! I also made a support strut to take some of the stress off of the intake flange and lower manifold runners.

I have to admit... it does! GREAT JOB on the decal application Anthony! It was a late night for us both!

    Street Survival Unveiling!

We had our official unveiling on Saturday, March 20th, at the Buckeye BMWCCA's Tire Rack Street Survival School. Despite being the earliest school on the schedule, the weather was outstanding. The early-morning gloom on the kids' faces evaporated after the very first excercise and I believe that they all had a great time and learned a lot.

Several of the students (and a few instructors ) lined up for rides in the DTR One Lap car during lunchtime and all were truely blown away. Kevin Kreisa's car is simply outstanding and a huge testament to what he can do at his shop, Dreams to Reality Performance. This unveiling marked the culmination of the last 3 years of him bringing his OWN dreams to reality. I am lucky to be piloting such an awesome machine in this year's One Lap of America.

This is my 6th year of instructing for Street Survival and my enthusiasm only grows with every school I attend. People are taking notice, too. We had our local Channel 5 news show up and reported on the school in last night's broadcast.

Please take a minute to browse the pictures that David Santel took for us. I think that everyone is really happy with the way the car turned out.

Thank you for your continued support and please let as many people know about this program as you can!

You know you guys (or Ary) have got to do something about that front bumper. Looks like it's promoting lift with the angle it has.

That bumper stuff has been a sore subject for me for quite some time now. It has something to do with the way the bumper integrates right at the fender. I really didn't have time to re work that. It has honestly always been like that. However, it is possible that during this last install that I didn't get it mounted just right, but it still pulls upward slightly. I am working on making a lip that should negate these effects in the near future. It has been a LOT of work to get it this far in such a short time. Things will be worked out in the future I can assure you.
