    So Cal headliner replacement recommendations

Greetings, looking for any help in locating a shop in So. Cal that is familiar with e31 headliner replacement. Have 97 840 and would like as close to original as possible. Currently have no Sun roof issues just sagging liner. Appreciate your help thanks.

    Headliner Replacement

Make sure your A and C Pillar covers come off easily, very fragile and you should recover them at the same time so they match

I would pull the headliner, A and C Pillars, sunroof and rear package shelf myself to minimize cost.

You will need the 14 or so clips that surround the sunroof they are a one time use item

Thanks, may have to go that direction. If there’s an experienced shop in area I’m not opposed to having it done. Yes, I have checked one a pillar and attachment points were brittle and broke. Used Velcro to reinstall. Have an idea for pillars and don’t know if will work, maybe a few strong magnets epoxied to back side of pillars would hold in place. Just an idea, haven’t looked at them to see if even a possibility.

Check out Euro-Trim Upholstery in San Diego. 858 271-4208 eurotrim04@yahoo.com. They did an excellent job replacing my headliner and pillars. My roof was replaced with a sunroof delete roof. Perfect job.

Thanks for both recommendations, I live reasonably close to both of these. Good news about magnets being used.

    thanks again.

Could you explain the magnet way of attaching the headliner & pillars. Thanks.

I haven’t done it, but it looks like there’s enough room to epoxy a strong flat magnets to the back side where the broken attachment points were or anywhere else their needed. There is obviously enough metal on the pillars for this to work.

What a forum, had an Idea and sure enough someone has already done it. I think will work much easier than trying to rebuild broken parts or using Velcro.

This is only for the pillars, not the headliner.
