    E36 non-airbag steering wheel

I searched and found lots of posts that detail how the airbag equipped E36 wheels will not fit the E30 hubs...well understood. However, I could not find anything that talked about a non-airbag equipped E36 wheel (early Euro-spec E36's did not have airbags). Would such a part fit on the stock E30 hub? if not, why not?

    Many thanks...

No, the offset, directional canceling, and spline bore/pitch is all different.

That's what I was afraid of...thanks for the prompt response, Stück.

Davey--Thanks for the kind comments...What you may not know is that our cars have more in common that you may be aware--we are brothers! The Z1 has the same iX M20 engine with the "pass through" the oil pan. In your case, it's to create extra room for the front axle running gear. In my case it allows the engine to sit behind the front axle, far to the rear of the engine bay, creating a "front-mid" engine layout and near 50/50 balance. At one time, BMW considered making the Z1 AWD as well... Now THAT would have been awesome!

haha, wow, i knew it was the m20, but never the ix m20. thats funny lol. ironically i was just watching the top gear "top 100" cars special yesterday, and the z1 made the list. there such cool cars, theres one at the bmw NA plant on display. of coarse i went on the day when it was closed, but i was still 5 feet away from it behind the glass. love those doors and interior. post pics please

Very nice Z1. There's a guy in Palm Springs who drives one around town quite a bit. One of my employees asked me about it late last year and has seen the guy twice more since then. Pretty rare car, that's for sure!
