Thumbs up My new hair dryer

Finally had this done by CMG's buddy at Pure Turbos. It was $825 delivered for a reman with 360° bearing upgrade with corresponding guts, ceramic coated turbine housing, billet wheel, machining of the unit, and a VR balance. Wheel is probably on the edge of overkill for the K27 system, but hey, it is neat.

Let me know if you guys have other questions.

    I make E23 parts.

It is going in the 10/84 car when I go through the top end. That will be next year after I rebuild the OM603 in my 300SDL.

Judging from Sicstang's dyno at 8psi, this should easily add 30-40rwhp at stock boost by my guess.

Technically it is a billet GTX3582R compressor wheel which is 62mm/82mm. Which is basically an evolved GT3582R wheel, best I understand it.

Supposedly flows better up top. Compressor chart is quite nice for this.

    Member on mye28.com made 370rwhp on a 60-1 K27 @ 17psi, TCD AW kit, MS2, all on a stock B34 with just ARPs and a Cometic.

    Hi Hitman,

Is this available in stock for purchase or is a core needed for rebuild? Also, I am in need of a wastegate for my 85, I read that you are the guy with the drop-in Tial wastegate. Please send me the details. Thanks

    Thumbs up

It is on my 10/84 car now, so not for sale. You can buzz up Pure Turbos and have one built, Gpop Shop did one for a customer of mine and he likes it. You are better off with a good core, but they are hard to find now and could probably make due with good housings as I am sure you can buy a new CHRA and start off that. Mellett out of the UK sold them forever ago. I would like to see if there is a modern turbine wheel to install, I will investigate this for my 11/84 745i as it has a stock K27 still.

Definitely more pep at stock boost, holds to redline even at 10psi so top end power is improved for sure at the same boost. More airflow, lower IATs, quicker light offs. Also at 10psi you are essentially on the ragged edge of out of fuel or out of fuel depending on load, and 100% would not run 10psi with this without a RRFPR. Cartech that went BEGi is now MaxG I do believe. You will have to sort that, it became convoluted.

10psi usually did about 250rwhp on stock M106s with the stock 47mm compressor wheel. The power still drops around 4800rpm, this is due to ECU tuning of the timing curve.

9-10psi is around where boost cut occurs on a stock 013 Motronic 745i, if you need that EPROM flash (which you will for higher boost) you need to highly consider rebuilding your ECU also to freshen up with having a boost delete chip for more ass. Once these 013s go 'tits up', it takes a LOT of work and money to resurrect them. You basically need all the parts I replace, replacement EPROMs, and two 008 ECUs to steal the electronics out of to make it work again. I have killed two sorting out the root cause for a guy in HI.

PM me and I can send you details. Unsure if all this is okay as I am not a sponsor here, but not like there are many E23 guys anyway.

Keep us posted and we like pics.
