    Tool Kit Thumbscrew Replacement

I don't know if anyone else has had this happen, but I thought I'd post up for the H*** of it.
My tool kit thubscrew broke in half leaving part of the screw in the screw plug.

You can get the replacement part from EAC tuning. Part #2 below. BMW part #71111179444.

    - I used a knife to cut a notch in the broken off end of the screw and used a screw driver to back it out. Here's a shot of the small channel/groove I cut in the broken end of the screw.

    - Broken thumbscrew removed.

    - New thumbscrew from EAC.

You can see the large single thread at the base of the screw.

    - Thread the thumbscrew in all the way past the single, special thread at the base of the screw. If you try to back the screw out now, it should just spin.

    Thanks Jared and Mark!

I've broken one. It was a real pain to get the old broken threads out of there.

I think I got lucky. It was a clean break.

Thank you for the prompt, excellent service (Got the jack pads, too.).
