Palamino should think about sticking this in the top section to aide those that need this help.

Palomino thinks you should take her spot as a mod.

    I'll sticky this now.

Nice. This is helpful information. I've had my 1995 325iC since 2004 and have never seen this PDF before. Thank you!

This is great PDF's and thanks.

I posted in the vert section and no reply. I tried to re-set my A & B motors. "A" motor re-engaged completely. "B" motor unable to re-engage. I did not proceed to the Top-close switch yet until my "B" motor re-engages.

Please help. This is my daily driver and I can't afford the stealer or indy at this point.

I found this document I never found before. It's by far the best and most comprehensive roof doc I have found so far.

There is one drawback however, although not for me personally. It's in German.

    Thanks.

I need to close my top (full automatic) manually. I know it involves a lot of cranking so if you can tell me which way to crank it so I won't waist my time I would appreciate it. Also, there is an opening in the middle of the front end of the top that is covered, is that where I do the cranking?

    Leftly loosy, righty tighty.

So when you sit in the car, you turn the crank counter clockwise to open the top.

This is all explained in your owners manual as well, which I'm sure you don't have

There is a small cover that can't be missed, behind which is the socket for the allen key.

And yes, you have to do LOTS of turns, as the electric motor spins very fast and even then it takes quite some time for the front to come up from the windshield. So having to do this by hand, takes long to do. So don't think too soon that you are doing it wrong.

Luckely I've never had to use it *knock on wood*.

    Thanks Mparallel!

My senses tells me that I will need to close the top all the way to help the re-engage the "B" motor once I put the top entirely down.

    Top is closed, finally!

Will I be able to snap in both A & B motors in this position?

Should be possible now. You may have to slightly turn the gears in case they don't mesh right away.

    Sorry I wasn't very clear.

Now my top is up and locked and both A & B motors are dis-engaged. Will I be able to re-engage both motors while the top is in this position?

    Ha no problem.

I see I screwed up my previous reply a little with the "shag" (!?) which should be "what".

But I just got an iPhone and I'm not used to type on a small touchscreen keyboard.

Go to www.moskopp.com (1) Click on "downloads" (2) Click on "tutorials und howtos" (3) The very first one is the download you want (4). After downloading and saving it (5) get it translated by Bing, Google or what ever translating progam you want to use (6).

    cheers,

Thanks for the detailed info on front motor adjust and replace. I have this scheduled as this weekend project and now feel a lot more confident I will replace the motor correctly.. Kudos!

    That great German doc translated

But I can't seem to attach the file.

Just use Google docs and hit the translate button. It worked really well.
