04 x5 4.8is Temp gauge problem

Hi guys just picked up a new x5 well new to me. I just did the water pump and the bimmerfix fix for the coolant transfer pipe i reassembled everything and now the temp gauge is pegged in the red whether it is running or just on accessory. It was never like this befroe we changed the water pump, any help on getting it back to normal would be great thanks, SMAC

Double check your wiring to the temp sensor, sounds like you have an issue there.

Thanks for the info, looked like the system wasnt fully bleed and air bubbles got stuck near the sensor, that being said we bled the system again and drove it and now everything works fine!
