Trevor - I am in need of a new Engine Leveller, which one are you using? Seems to be a good one (Sorry for slight jack B)
I truly hope it's not still here in May, but mine will be there if it survives the climb up Pikes Peak.
Yep, just a cheap one from Harbor Freight.

Actually take it on another road trip, meet more people, and brag about how much you love your car. You could also let other people drive too. Maybe rent it out for 29.99 per day!!

Cool... thanks Brandon. I will check out HB. I would like to get a wide one as the S62 engine hoist mounts are different to the M62 and a wider leveller would be great.

Hell, for the 187k miles it is in outstanding condition

I have those on my 7, they are good for sure
Congratulations again Max! Awesome Score! What did you end up paying for it - you can text me.

He He He He..... I know Brandon is only joking about cutting you, I know he would be 100% behind the idea. Actually, he can cut you as long as I can drive it! LOL!

    Stay tuned ^

Ordered new front upper/lower arms, front end links and rear toe arms. Boxed up the 50k mile M5 driveshaft to send it down to a place near Trevor.

My place will not balance a BMW shaft and remember, when I called them to ask about lengthening, he didn't want to touch it because of the friction welding. If your place does it and balances it, no reason not to send to them since it will have to be shipped down to you anyway. But if there is any reason I shouldn't, let me know asap please.

Just talked to Steven there. Great guy who happens to be a big BMW enthusiast. Sounds like they are trying to expand the market share. He even deals with a good friend of mines company all the time. Small world. It's going out today and sounds like they are the best place to knock it out.

Are they still ~ 150? I recall this from Trevor's build thread but believe that was a couple years back.

Those frame rails are filthy. Hope they clean up ok. The trans looks great as does the engine.

Is that actually a factory ding on the lower driver side of strut tower?

    - - - Updated - - -

I may have missed it earlier in the post but are you keeping stock steering gearbox or swapping in the M5 one?

Keeping the stock steering box but IIRC, Paul or Trevor was going to code it so that it changes with the press of the sport button.

    It's a factory notch.
The servotronic isn't coding, the valve gets wired to the DME instead of the GM.

This^ I am not familiar with the S62 swap in the E38, cannot code, cannot weld, cannot dye interiors and have no idea how to retrofit an NBT. I did built much of my touring myself and did about 5 full interior swaps in E39's. I was ready for a break. And as Paul said, him, Trevor and Brian are doing their best work so this car should be spectacular when finished. I will do some stuff when I get the car back too but the big stuff will be done.

It's hard keeping track of what everyone is doing though. So much work going into this car..
