    Rear seat belt locked

One of the rear seat belts on my 95 M3 is locked and can't pull it out, How can I do this, It is locked like they do when you hit the brakes. Tried pushing it in and then out but won't work, not that much slack to do it.

There are two ball bearings that roll around in the mechanism - and provide the "lock" when they roll forward during deceration & or crash. You'll need to releave the tension on the belt, which if as you describe, the belt is tight against the seat already you may not be able to do. If not you may need to pull the seat bottom and remove the lower belt from the chassis (one bolt). Once you've releaved the tension on the belt if if still wont come out, try tapping on the bottom side of the rear shelf in the middle (from inside the trunk) to dislodge the ballbearing back to its resting position. I just got a new belt mechanism, and couldnt get the belt to come out (just playing around with it before i installed it). Once I was holding it in the right orientation, I still had to tap it on the kitchen counter to get the balls to move back to the correct position, it then would move in and out freely. Hope this helps.

also make sure the fold down seats are locked in place. Im pretty sure if the seats are not locked in place, the seat belts also lock up.

Hey, did anybody else figure out a solution to this? What's the outcome? Did it end up working ? and having the same issue with the rear seat belts in the E36 coupe

Unbolt the lower belt from the body. Let it retract and then extend it back out as normal.

Make sure you operate it in the normal upright position it would be installed.
