ignore secondary air injection system codes?

I have a 2001 Z3 Roadster 2.5i. I repaired the secondary air injection system vacuum hose 6 months ago, but now the P0491, P0492 codes have returned. My understanding is that this system has little effect on the car's performance - the system only operates when the car initially runs. I'm also told that cars 25 yrs old or older no longer need emissions systems working correctly to pass New York state inspection.
So I'm wondering, shall I just ignore it, or are there other effects this system could have on the car if left unrepaired?

It's fine to delete but you need a DME tune to delete it properly

Most of the places I have lived won't pass a car with a check engine light on. You may want to look into that even if you don't care that it's on.

I deleted my whole system and coded it out. No issues, no check engine light, still passes inspection.

it will lead you down a rabbit hole. if you come out the other side. it will all make sense.

note: if you are good with computers (basic computer level) it helps.

Thanks. If I'm going to tackle this I'll do it over the winter. At the moment, my SAP is working. It would be nice to have all that junk gone though.
