Hi!
New E46 owner here.
Recently did an OBD scan and found the following in stored: P0505 (Idle control system), P0150 (02 censor circuit; bank 2, sensor 1), P0173 (Fuel Trim Bank 2), P0340 (Camshaft Position Sensor A; Circuit Bank 1 or Single Sensor)
Symptoms: engine makes vacuum sound when accelerating, loss of power, occasional stalling (with working AC), poor fuel economy.
Vehicle: Right hand drive variant (Japan). ‘99 sedan, auto, m52. Apx 60k miles on the odometer.
Planning on fixing the issues myself, however, not very proficient with diagnostics. Can someone recommend where to start and what to look for to see where the actual issue is.
Thank you.
Replace the camshaft sensor with a new OEM one, don't forget a new o-ring. Then figure out where your vacuum leak is coming from. You'll probably need a smoke test. Fix that, clear codes, drive and see what returns.
