Hi, my first post here.
I get either of the two following messages almost every time I stop the car.
"Increased battery discharge while stationary"
"battery discharge start engine"
Sometimes I get the messages upon starting the car.
Not a mechanic at all, but did some homework:
- Problem was present with old original AGM battery
- Problem is present with new registered similar AGM battery
- Messages displayed even after a one hour drive
- Car always starts fine summer/winter (cold Canadian winters...)
- Radio and dash functions shut down really quick after stopping the car.
- No mods. No external devices (USB or else).
- No significant mV across front and trunk fuses (~ 0.1mV on two 5A fuses)(when car asleep)
- Battery 12.5 volt at rest. 14.7 volts when car running.
- ~25mA amps through negative battery lead (when car asleep more than 10 mins)
- Battery current goes from 9A to 25mA within ten minutes of locking the car.
- A bunch of codes read with BlueDriver (referring to clamps 15, 30B, 30F)
Does not bother me too much since car always starts smoothly on first crank, but got to solve the riddle before eventually selling the car.
What would be my next steps before giving up and going to a BMW dealer ?
