Any advice on changing the belts?

Would be the first time attempting this job. Never really took out that front cowling to see what's down there. Started it up and heard a whacking and it was a piece of a belt splitting. I did read Timm's, but want to see if there is anything else to think about. Any suggestions or a good full write up would be great. Also part numbers as well would be helpful (want to replace all the belts just because they are ancient [probably original]). The only humorous part is that I actually started to look into this yesterday because I knew the belts were old and needed be replace (only 65k on the clock). But now I have to get right on it.
    Thanks. Paul.

The belt p/n's check in the ETK based on your VIN because there are many options, for example Belt drive for water pump/climate compressor (provided you did'nt change a part)

Yes, I was searching and getting a bit confused on the different part numbers. I haven't changed anything (and owned the car for over 25 years), so everything is probably original. It's a basic 1991 850.

yes, forum has software hick ups, the admin is working on these problems since days https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...7#post31015937
Maybe someone with a US 1991 850 tells you which belts you need exactly, I had enough probs with my E32 750 in hot climate version with correct belt sizes. Best is you post a list of parts you found in ETK based on the VIN and someone can double check it.

Hi Henry. Are you sure on the 6PK1080? FCP doesn't list it as fitting.
