    upgraded cv's for e36 ?

Have you guys heard of the Holden commodore?
Me either But apparently it is a GM car that uses an LS V8 motor and according to this youtube video the CV will work on an e36 pretty easily.

I can't find these CV's stateside, and I don't wanna mess with importing right now. So that CV is out, but I found some people in this thread bimmer forums saying VW type 2's Porsche 944 or maybe 930 CV's will work on e36 and e30. However, google search can not confirm or deny this allegation.

So, keep with me. Researching the VW/Porsche stuff I stumble upon this from GKN
    Part number ms3k025 is
    100mm diameter
    32mm thickness
    with a BCD of 86mm
the bolt hole is 10mm i
    25 spline like the e36 non M

and here are the dimensions I have taken of my cv.

    100mm D
    The bolt hole is 10mm
    The only thing
Im unsure of is the width because I have not torn it apart yet, but according to this thread it is 26mm thick.
BCD (bolt circle diameter) is 84-86mm (my tool is not accurate and its hard to get eyeball the exact center of the hole LOL)
From checking the output flange on my spare diff I believe it is 86mm tho.

In a week ill have one apart to measure the thickness but till then I wanna get my poo in a pile and sharing it here seems like a good place cuz I know others are looking for something like this also. If it is in 5mm thicker that puts this GNK cv on par with what the commodore looks like in in the video posted above. That guy seems pleased with the upgrade. SO much in fact there is a link in the youtube comments to upgraded e36 axles that are sold out!

moreover on the GKN link the part number ms3k037 shares the same specs but is listed has heavy duty applications. also part number ms3k037 and 025 both share the same plunge movement of +/- 8mm

I emailed GKN and am awaiting their response. Ok, I have colleced my thoughts and I will update this thread eventually.

In the mean time I think these may fir e36 too but not sure. If I can't get good info from manufacturers Im gonna go for some science fair type $H*T

here is the comodor CV https://www.onlineautoparts.com.au/p...joint-boot-kit

Im nearly positive this is the same as the autohausaz link but no PN shown it does show the spline count tho https://944online.com/cv-joint-kit-2...oint+25+spline

OHH YEAH THEN THERE IS THIS!!!which shows the same info as the GKN which has me starting to think the measurement 26mm in this thread is wrong?

One thing I forgot to mention is when I get there will need to go down to tacoma screw and get some longer bolts too!

I believe there are several options for the inner CV, and you're on the right path for those.
But, the challenge is the outer CV.
Years ago, half axles were available from BMW, new, for ~$200. Oh to have a stock pile of those.
