I'm fundamentally against touchscreens in cars. This doesn't do anything for me. Things that require you to take your eyes off the road to use them are a bad idea.

100% but I have to say car play specifically is the best interface since it came out where it limits touch to essential apps and prevents typing when car is in motion. With my family fleet, I specifically choose cars that overwhelmingly have analog controls. Only things such as navigation, hands free calling/messaging, internet radio are somethings that carplay does the best in the business

Android Auto is really good too. I'm finding the Pioneer 3500 is really great. 7" screen when you need it, and stowed when you don't. Plus, it's the best tuner and sound I've had in 30 years in the car. (for those that don't already know, It's got an AudoControls DQX processor, two Alpine V12 amps, JL Audio Stealthboxes, BSW/Rainbow speakers) The Nakamichi CD-7 was by far the best CD section. (radio was weak), The Blaupunkt CD70-71-72, especially the Seattle (black) looked the best. Didn't really have strong feelings about the Kenwoods, one died under warranty. The Alpines, (all of them) had weak radios. But this Pioneer? Really good bluetooth, great radio, great CD, and a 7" touchscreen. Yep, those are my opinions.
No matter where you go, there you are...

yeah I don't love my Kenwood, slow to connect, sometimes doesn't connect at all, have to cycle to Bluetooth or 'IPOD' mode, they both work the same to me so I don't know the difference. I don't really need a screen, but having the ability to use Maps for those sometimes road trips that require it would be handy. The rest of the time I just want a quick/reliable connection to my phone for music streaming.

The CP-71 walmart unit is touch screen but has android auto and apple car play. the voice commands work well for me as well. I also liked that they had the power BUTTON to mute and turn off the unit and they have volume buttons as well. Everything else can be done by command or upon starting (with android/apple play)
