Site is lately slow or even unreachable past couple days

Has anyone else experienced the site being unreachable (via browser or even Tapatalk the past few days? The site also appears to be running slower than usual the past couple weeks. Anyone else experiencing this too?

Likewise for me, and certain features still return localhost errors

A massive influx of users were just too much for the current equipment to handle. When I brought the site back online yesterday, there were approximately 130,000 users attempting to browse the site. Had to make some adjustments to accommodate. It'll likely take a little time for the various caching mechanisms to catch up.

and I have to go plug that put the search function back together again.
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?

    Yes, extremely appreciative!

With that traffic, is there a majority of new accounts and or first time posters? So much that it could be nefarious bots?

In a world where Reddit and Facebook groups are killing old-school forums, this is actually great news. Of course as the user base grows, costs also go up, but I'm happy Bimmerforums is still this popular.

Thanks for all the hard work!

I'm betting a combination of nefarious bots of who found their way here from some new/old search engine that decided to index the site. Or somebody decided to put some sort of MLM marketing link in their signature which they are spreading across the internet to capitalize on our site popularity to boost their search scores.

Ah, so it wasn't legitimate users. That sucks. Glad it's back though.

As much as I wish we had 130,000 concurrent users, I know that the reality of that is pretty thin...

Since sometime yesterday, the following is observed and is still occurring:
    - I am unable to upload an image (.jpg) from my computer via Chrome. I get no errors and the save works fine for all texts entered, but unable to include a picture. After clicking save, its simply not there.
    - Tapatalk never loads this forum. I get no errors in the app

Just informing in case the details help with troubleshooting:

Newer posts, if I edit it, nothing shows on the form.
As in this post of mine - https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...1#post31014391

I am still unable to create or edit any posts, to add a picture via Chrome or Edge on my desktop computer.

On Tapatalk, I get this error when trying to access bimmerforums.com: Network error, please try again later. (get_config)
Interestingly so, zroadset.net is doing the same thing.

When trying to login on Tapatalk it’s giving an error, looks like it might be something related to your firewall rules, I copied the error to a text pad. What method of sending this error to you would you prefer, it’s mostly HTML so posting in thread is a nogo.

I am still not able to edit any post to add picture from desktop via Chrome or Edge.
Some posts of mine that I edit, does not actually load up a form to Edit, its a blank page. as in this post: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...1#post31014391

    Older posts, I can.

As for tapatalk: I get this error (without any ability to copy the message details): Network error, please try again later. (get_config)

I am not complaining, just providing details in case it helps troubleshooting.

    Hi, Kevlar,

In addition to my previous PM: On one "Reply". After submit, the page refreshes and I see my Response. But on refresh or return, its gone.
Its as if the Db may have issues with persistence possibly commitment control is issuing a Db rollback of the transaction? Is the Db having index or cache issues or possibly reaching other limitations?

Interesting....after about 30 minutes, I now see my posts. There was a delay earlier for sure. Just an FYI if it helps in any troubleshooting. This reply had no issues though.

Likely the caching this is all fouled up because of the constant up and down during the site being hammered. Lots of things were probably in a write or cache state when the server was brought to it's knees.

I get "access denied" error for my country from the website's firewall when I try to login or post something.

I can only post by using a vpn... will it be fixed?
