Hello everyone,


Retrofitted an EPS Steering Rack to my E90.


Everything worked perfect for the first day,
The next day this creaking sound started when turning left and if the car is stationary or under 20KM/h


I'm 90% sure it's coming from the rack, everything else was changed.
I listened with a statoscope and it's hard to tell where to noise originates on the rack, it's the same volume at the pinion and the other side too.


The rack bolts are as tight as they go, i tried old bolts, new bolts.


Otherwise there is no play in the rack, on the electric side under the dustcover the rack looks good, on the other side too. Not dry.


Before mounting the belt was checked, it's perfect.


Anyone got any idea how to fix it? Or an explanation what's causing it?
