Apologies if this question is painfully amateurish, but I recently had a need to have my car towed. Despite rules, I wasn't able to be present when the AAA driver arrived. Rather, I gave the driver the info needed over the phone. My big mistake.
That said, the driver arrived at the drop off destination with my car's seat belt tied in knots around my steering wheel and my two front tires on the ground after traveling at freeway speeds for about 30 miles.
Although it was a question that did not need to be asked, I passively aggressively said, "Did you just tow my car 30 miles at freeway speeds without a tow dolly and use my seat belt to prevent the wheels from turning? To which he relied, "Yah, why is there a problem?"
When I drove the car the symptoms that did not exist an hour earlier were very weak and "squishy" brakes and a severe pull to the left when heavy braking.
So, my question remains still: 1. Is towing a RWD by its front wheels at freeway speeds while locking the steering wheel bad for the car, and 2. What are the type of damages one might experience if damage was indeed caused by towing a car in this fashion.
Thanks for any response.
