This is a rare opportunity for somebody to get into a *clean title* Z3M Coupe for cheap. With a little body work, this estoril beast will be ready to give the next owner years of analogue driving enjoyment. Enthusiast owned for 10+ years with a litany of tasteful upgrades. I already miss this car’s wide power band, nimble handling, stunning lines, and the utility of a surprisingly big cargo area.
I purchased the car in July of 2015 at 96k miles from an enthusiast in Falls Church, VA. Since that time I have completed a ton of maintenance and upgrades. I immediately had the rear subframe reinforced by Piper Motorsports – a very reputable race fabrication shop in Leesburg, VA. I have done the vast majority of work on this car myself. Oil changes every 3,000-4,000 miles with LiquiMoly 10w40 in the warmer months and 5w30 in cooler months. Much of the maintenance and upgrades are logged in Bimmerforums though I stopped doing that in 2019ish (See link at bottom). The 6-speed / 3.73LSD swap is basically brand new – just completed in January of 2025 (See link at bottom). Pre-collision, the interior and exterior were in very good shape for a vehicle with nearly 200k miles. I am probably forgetting stuff but see below list of modifications and maintenance I have performed. I am happy to take additional photos of anything. The car is driveable as it sits but I wouldn’t venture outside of my neighborhood. Many paper service records available from both my ownership and the previous owner.

Known Issues:
I have previously replaced the radiator, water pump, thermostat, and a couple hoses. However, the cooling system started to leak coolant from one of the hoses near the back of the head / heater core. I purchased all new cooling system hoses / water pump / thermostat / expansion tank just before the collision and intended to replace those next. Cooling system parts included with sale. There is an exhaust leak where the y-pipe meets the headers – likely just needs a new gasket. Glove box sag as a result of the shop doing the A/C work. Windows work fine but a little slow. Needs four new tires. It’s a 200k car that has been loved by an enthusiast but don’t expect perfection.
Collision Damage:
I was stationary at a red light when a minivan struck me from behind (maybe 20mph?) and pushed me into an Amazon van in front of me. I’m no expert but it appears the following need to be replaced: front bumper, rear bumper, rear bumper shocks. The rest can probably be repaired but please use your own judgment. The rear hatch has a very slight bend on the bottom left. The left rear frame rail is pushed in somewhat. The hood is pushed inward near the kidneys. I drove the car home 2-hours from the site of the collision. It drove fine but the CEL came on for the exhaust leak noted above. The rear is taken apart as pictured but I have all of the removed pieces and a bag of hardware.
Title Status: I believe the title is still clean. Obviously, there will be collision damage noted on the CarFax but I do not believe that the insurance carrier has done anything to notify the Virginia DMV of the damage. Again, please verify this on your own as I’m no expert in title status and I can’t control what the insurance companies report (or not) to the DMV.
