    E34 Jack Stand Recommendations?

I'm about to lift my E34 Touring to do some work underneath. I am going to buy some new jackstands, but the E34 has an unusual arrangement. Instead of lifting on the pinch weld, it appears there's a dished "socket". I suspect it's to mate with the factory jack, so I understand that, but i can't see how I'm going to use these as load-bearing points to rest on my jackstands without making some sort of adapter.

Making the job more difficult is that mine has rocker panel moldings which only provide a 2" x 2.5" window to access the jack point (see photo).

Does anyone have any recommendations for jackstands and/or adapters to use these points?

Ive been getting some good use out of these Daytona jack stands from harbor freight.56687_W3.jpeghttps://www.harborfreight.com/automo...nds-56687.html

I have also found the regular Daytona 3 ton ratcheting jack stand to be perfectly fine as well.

Also im located in Huntsville Alabama. not to far away and I make trips up to the LKQ in Chatt when something good pops up

Yeah I wish someone made a rubber puck insert with a flat bottom pad that fit the factory jack points of the E34 / E32. I've gone through many jack stands and ultimately settled on the ESCO "10498" flat top jack stands for my E32. They are excellent, however I still need to use some folded pieces of cardboard between the jack stand pad and the body jacking point to avoid crushing that lower plastic side skirt trim piece.

My original choice was the harbor freight version of those ESCO jack stands for the same reason you stated. Unfortunately the store closest to me did not have them in stock and I needed them right then and there. I will eventually get me a set of 4 of those one day.

I use a Powerflex pinch weld-straddling urethane "hockey puck" thing. It's not OEM but it gets the forces distributed widely enough that I haven't noticed any degradation/distortion of the pinch welds once I started using it.

Thanks everyone. I got some stands from Northern Tool and now I'll make some adapters to poke up in there. I like the Powerflex bushing idea, @circuit.heart
