Lots of truth there. I just read higher up to see that he's doing the body himself. Will be awesome.
Keep it simple: half gutted '01 330i, welded diff, BC coils, SLR Super kit
I am biased on the dished ARC-8s personally. They just look so aggressive and fit the E36s style so well. I get compliments all the time on them. I just wish I could run the fronts without spacers and clear the Stoptechs. Had to roll all 4 corners and run some negative camber on all too. 18x9s ET30 on all 4 corners
Here they are on mine

I’d like the same lines/look as stock with larger arches to accommodate the tires. Think Hard Motorsport flares without the seams or screws. I would like to figure out how to reduce the exposed frontal area of the front and rear tires..
I'm pretty sure the E36 in the photos that jakermac posted used E46 M flares. It's too much IMO. The Estoril one above is much more OEM looking.
The estoril one uses E46 Non-M front fenders.
I want to do the same to my rear fenders.
like this great example:

I am just to much of a pussy to do it myself, and too broke to pay someone for it, so that might take a long time.
Very curious to see how the job on yours will end up Chikenhed!
The estoril M3 is local to me but I’ve never seen it other than in photos. I believe he is running 285’s but says he can fit 295’s. IMHO the front of the front arches doesn’t look right, like they had to do something funky to get the front of the e46 arch to work. I’ve given the shop one e46 front fender to cut up and see if they can use it but the owner said that it’s most likely that they will just make the arches instead as they will fit better. When you take an arch that is not meant to fit and you try to make it fit then you end up with thing looking not quite right like the estoril M3 or the Lang M3 above. That said, we don’t know all the challenges ahead to fit the tires or the vision my body guy has from the info I’ve given him, which does include pictures of both cars and pointing out their flaws. One of the constraints I gave him was that the flare can’t go into the gas door.

Also known as a “stancy nancy”, as the OP likes to call it.

I laughed out loud when I first read that post.
My first e36 was a bit stancy Nancy.
Any details on the driveshaft?
How is the progress on the car/bodywork?
The Virus offers us much free time.
The car was dropped off in December. I was at the shop two and a half weeks ago and all that was done was new collars/spring seats were machined to fit the front tires closer to the coilovers and spray foam had been applied to the wheel arches on the right side and sculpted into flares that match the original flare shape but are big enough to accommodate the 315s. The flares also extend lower than stock to try and cover most of the extra frontal area the tires have to smooth out the airflow around the tires. They needed my approval of the shape before proceeding with starting on the metal work which I gave them and they also wanted me to get them fiberglass front and rear bumpers for ease of modification. All the fiberglass bumpers out ther that I’ve found so far are from a cheesy body kit or are bad copies of a stock front end. VISracing sells them but they don’t have any actual images of the bumpers and last I heard they were about 6-8 weeks away. I’ve emailed them for an update. With social distancing and the great weather we’ve been having it would be perfect to go for some long drives in the twisties. I’m pretty frustrated at how long this is taking but the shop has had many people off work sick on and off over The last few months. The plan was to have it done for the end of March, now I’m just hoping to drive it before summer is over.
Looking good! Any pics you can share of the process will be appreciated.
One of my coworkers races a vintage nitro dragster and the summer schedule had them at Mission. I was hoping to make it up there to watch them and maybe meet up with some of the BC crew. Then this virus happened
