I’m surprised no one asked about the headless person on the stairs at LeMay.

It’s a back bend crab walk up the stairs. My daughter was doing gymnastics all through LeMay as well.

Wow...what a testament to how well built your car is!

I just took a 2500 mile Road Trip from FL to PA for MPACT, but it was in my daily and not the M3. I thought man what would this trip have been like and your out here doing it. I want my build to be that reliable that I'll drive any distance. Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures!

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Here’s a mini update as a Christmas present to BF FI.......

I’ve had a pair of aluminum doors and a carbon fibre hood laying around forever waiting to be installed and it’s finally going to happen. I’ve stripped the car down, with help from Avee, in preparation for paint. New doors and hood are installed. I swapped in the carbon fibre sunroof panel in the summer. I’m having a shop do some metal work on the flares to fit some bigger rubber, fix a small rust spot & small dents, replace the windshield and do a complete paint job. I’ve just given them the M3 so I don’t expect it back for a couple of months. I’m excited!

Close but it’s actually an F33C which is an aerobatic Bonanza. Apparently its the last aerobatic Bonanza built.

I have to get new 18x10.5 wheels and I can’t decide between the ARC-8’s or the SM-10’s. Let me know what you guys think.....

I am a big fan of the ARC8. Have 3 sets. You could go fancy and buy the new forged version. Mine are all cast and I have not broken any. 2 of my 3 sets have been in the road for about 10 years.

I’ve had 3 sets as well. They are a great looking wheel. I’m currently on 18x8.5’s in bronze .

Their coilovers with swift springs. Here is a better angle of how it sits

The plan is to graft on larger fender arches, like the e46 330i front fenders, to accommodate a square set of NT-01 315/30R18 tires on 18x10.5 et22-et27 wheels. The suspension is MCS 2WNR coil-overs with 680f 800r springs.

The shop I’m using is a classic European car restoration shop which can essentially make any panel for a car. They don’t usually work on the “low cost newer cars” like an e36 M3 but I’ve befriended the shop owner over the last few years and he has agreed to take it in. It’s the challenge of fitting the big tires and trying to maintain the stock appearance that has made him interested in the job.

How wide are your rims out back?

Right now I have 17x9 ARC-8’s et42 all around. The rear fender arches will require the most work to fit the 315’s. There will be a lot of cutting and welding along with the help of a BFH.

Here is the starting point with the 315s installed. The fronts will probably need a 17 mm spacer with the et27 wheels. This is with a 12 mm but it rubs on the strut. The front and rear fender rework should be straight forward but trying to cover the frontal area of the tires will be a challenge. Ideally, the aft edges of the front bumper cover would be spread outward.

Your turning radius will be measured in miles rather then feet.

I hope that’s not the case. We will massage it where it needs it to try to keep it under a mile.

Looks lik eyou're in need of a BigDuckClub kit. Built for setups exactly like this, and survives damn near anything you throw at it.
Keep it simple: half gutted '01 330i, welded diff, BC coils, SLR Super kit
