SG & 328, from what I’ve read and researched the subframes are the same on all e39’s. You would have to swap output shafts though. Check out Stück’s e39 thread, good stuff in there.

My plan for my turbo e39 is either m5 diff or 540i diff with wavetrac or quaife.

I'm not really concerned about the diff or making huge power out of a 5 series.

But it would be nice to make it a bit more quick. Maybe in the 300-400 HP range. Probably low 3's

at this point I'm going to try to source a used m52b28 or plan on pulling the head

unhook the PCV drain from the dipstick and plug both ends. Its common for the PCV valve to fail and start sucking oil up from the dipstick. I had this exact issue and after doing this, and running the car about 30mins, all the smoke was gone.

    quick and easy to test

I agree with this, my best solution was a 50 shot of nitrous.

    How to turbo your car:
Step one. Install ecu and learn to tune and or have it tuned.
Step two. Install injectors and retune.
Step three. Install turbo parts and bits. get it running with out leaks. DO NOT DRIVE IT. Idling should be ok
    Step four. Retune car
    Step five enjoy

Did the car feel sluggish as well?

Reason I ask is because I drove the car on the road and it felt it like it was running on 5 cylinders (it wasn't missing) but it just didn't have the 90's I6 grunt that I'm used too. But this very could oil on the plugs preventing spark

Been awhile since I've played with the car trying to get my E36 squared away. I really wanna take it to the track.

i couldnt tell you if it was sluggish. I only moved it in and out of the garage. With all that oil though im sure it would have been missing all over the place.

Pulled the ICV tube yesterday and let it run for a good 30 minutes. Still smoke, revved the engine and it started missing horribly. Guessing another plug has been fouled

I don't understand why you pulled the ICV? Idle Air Control Valve (IACV)?
If you mean you pulled the PCV drain and plugged both sides, then you've probably eliminated a failed pcv from the equation as 30 minutes and you should have seen a reduction in smoke.

Easy or not depends on your definition, but definitely cheap to put a NSD (non-slip differential) in there!

    Yes, meant PCV.

Car started missing after 30 minutes, ran worse.

If I can source a motor for a reasonable price I'll swap it in.

    Pretty set on piston damage
