The AA Kit used OEM parts for some cables and hoses in their kit. For example, the upper radiator hose should be from a 1995 540i, which has a bump to clear the S/C pully. The accelerator cable I think I remember remembering was from an earlier 3-series, but I can't find my notes or any threads expressing specifically which cable to search. 1995 M3 sounds familiar, but so does E30 325i.
My cable has been bent since I received the kit (used), but I managed to massage it back to being usable. Now it is getting sticky probably from wear along the crease. It is about time I get a new one.
Does anyone know which cable I need?
Pic for attention:
No idea, hit up craig wong at AA. He's been pretty responsive to help me with any questions about parts with the twin screw kit.

1995 M3...Screwed
here is the TS parts thread
http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...ight=eurosport
My records (and I designed it, so hopefully they are correct!) are that it was/is an E34 540i throttle cable. I don't seem to have part number handy, but that is what I can find.
Have you been Screwed?
A rare sighting.
Been getting ready to fiddle with my car again since it needs some TLC/Refresh. Also preparing a manual swap into a 1998 M3/4/A that I recently bought my son who just started college and signed up here as stimpeejr (who was born about 2 years before I started the TS work!). So I have been poking around a bit again. I think most of the wounds are healed now...
Have you been Screwed?
Welcome back.
Scars are just God's little smiles.
Gentlemen, I ordered a 90’s 540i throttle cable, the parts guy gave me this part number. My original cable could be incorrect since I got the kit used, but it looks like we need a 90 degree bend at the throttle body side for it to fit. I’ll head back to the dealer to see if they can help find a better option.
P/N: 35 41 1 161 881
hmmm, i dont have the AA kit, but i know the ES TS kit did not come with a different throttle cable, and i am about 95% confident that my OEM 95 M throttle cable has a 90 degree bend. ill check this evening after work.
In the mean time ill see if i can access my flickr account from work....
bingo! Found a pic in some old pics of my car.
Two views, but its clearly a 90 degree.

I have the ES installation instructions, and there was no mention of a different cable required; the AA setup was only marginally different (plenum shape/TB location). Put it this way, I've always used the car's original/OE replacement throttle cables.
Thank you for the investigation and updates, gentlemen! I really appreciate it.
I looked through my "box-o-parts" and did not find my original thottle cable. For some reason I believe the one supplied with the kit was longer? Is there a difference between the length of the E36 OBD1 vs. OBD2 throttle cables?
Gentlemen, I tried the E36 cables, they will not work. While they do have the correct 90° bend at the t-body, they are about a foot too short to reach the t-body. Both the OBD1 and OBD2 cables are identical (although have different part numbers).
I found an E34 M50 cable p/n: 35-41-1-160-609 which looks similar to E36M3, but I cannot find length specs.

E36 and E34 M50 are pretty significant in length just looking at the pics.
E36 35411163228 https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/35411163228/
E34 M50 35411160611 https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/35411160611/
NLA though...
That E36 one looks identical to the E36 one I mentioned above, it is about a foot long. The second one, that Bowden cable, has the ends reversed, at least in that picture. I'll search for that e34 one and see if I can get a better picture of it. It looks like, if the ends were correct, the length would be enough.
I found a longer version similar to the "bowden cable" but with what looks to have correct ends. 35 41 1 164 636 Supposedly for a RHD version. I don't think it matters.
I found it on ebay international, getting it from Latvia (fingers crossed)...
Let me try to "mine" my old records again and see if I can find something as specific as a part number or more info.
Active may be able to point you in the right direction as well, but not sure...
Have you been Screwed?
Ok, found this pretty quickly:
35 41 1 164 636 from RHD 328 obd2
Looks like they are still available, and looks right from the pictures.
We should probably get this into the "parts" thread...
