Owner wants 2000$.
nice. where was that one hidden ?
Idle the car and see if it overheats. I wouldn't take the risk on an overheated car, HG could be blown.

If the trans is blown, negotiate, pick up the silver one as well and start swapping out parts.

Found it, was only 13 years. No pics either, you can probably ask him for some.

So guy I am trying to decide which one of the 2 cars will be a better project.
Here is what we know about both cars:
-- The Silver one been seating for 3 years. Per the guy who fixed it, the engine was running smoothly. It originally came in for rear hydrolic suspension fix. Interior is good. just need cleaning
-- The Blue one been seating for 6 months. It does start up, but engine overheats. The trany slips, and both cats have been removed from the car. Interior is great. Looks clean
I got both down to $1000 as it.
If had money I would buy both and swap parts. But in case I cant afford both right now, which one do you guys think will be a better project considering cost.
Note: The plan is to do most of the work myself.
Please advise.
As long as you can get the register of sale, the silver one is a safer bet in terms of internals.
Update:
So I end up buying the Blue 2000 750iL for $800. I got it towed cause the guy thinks that its will overhead.
I quickly checked the oil, and it looks clean oil, not mixed. Radiator is new, but missing the fan shroud. The coolant extension tank is dry empty. Low coolant indication on the dashboard.
Haven't let the engine run enough to see the temp gauge go up yet. Hope is something stupid
Will check the transmission later once I figure the engine out.
The car is mad loud due to the 2 cats being off the car.
The plan is to also buy the silver one thats been sitting for 3 years .
Let's hope it turns out well. Just drain all the fluids and check them out.
Best of luck man, I'm currently in the process of restoring my 98 740 that's been sitting for over 2 1/2 years...it takes all the patience you can muster

good deal. i wanted the blue one to part. didnt know hed go that low...see maybe if the guy with the other 750 will take 800 as well and if u dont get it let me get a go at it
Will the complete exhaust system including the cats from a 1996 and 1997 750 fit on the 2000 750?
What about from 2001 740 to 2000 750?
I need a complete exhaust on the blue 750
I added some coolant today, and let the car run for someone time..air blowing cold. Turned engine off once the gauge start to move to pass 12o clock. Its definitly overheating..will try to blid the system and check the fan. Any other thoughts guys?
Put the car on the lift and its not too too bad. Some rust at the back.

Some update.. Was lil cold outside today but I was able to spend for time out there trying to bleed the cooling system. For some reason a lot of coolant was missing.
I fill it up and bleed it out. Monitored the coolant temp with my scanner tool and it varied between 104c and 108c. Took it for a quick round down the block and didn't rise any higher then 108.
The car idled for more then 30 minutes and temp didnt change.
Do i have to take is on a long trip to confirm that its not overheating?
Didnt notice anything weird with the transmission while I drove it. Will look more into that once I find 2 Cats
By the way the engine runs smooth.
105-108C is the typical MAP stat temperature and working as intended, use the hidden cluster test on the dashboard to always keep it monitored. I'd change oil\trans filter and fluid now that the car runs and degrease the whole thing to go into leak detection mode. Lines look to be to SLS accumulators, just delete those when you get new struts and clean them up for now.

Can def see a trans fluid leak, I think we found the problem right there.

Yes the plan is to change all the fluids, and some of the gaskets. Trying to confirm and make sure the engine and trans are running good first.
Any DIY on SLS delete?
Keep in mind low fluid will cause all sorts of stupid symptoms and slipping.
SLS delete is here, you can reuse springs but they will be a bit low.
