Its decent, not a huge fan of the headlight/grill detail, but it's decent enough

Anybody else think it looks like an Angry Bird in this shot?

I must say their attempts to connect the headlights back to the grill gives me hope for the next generation.
What's with the whole "modern line" and "sport line" I keep seeing tossed around?

Pretty. I actually like how the headlights connect with the grill. They haven't done that since the E30.
Guinness: there's three lines: sport, premium and urban. I guess they are changing how they market packages to make more sense to more people?

I must say I really like the interior. I felt the E90 interior was rather bland and dour. The brushed aluminum and that red sill really look great. However, the exterior is merely OK to me. It doesn't grab me the way the E46 did. I wish that Audi and BMW could trade designers . . .
Looks good to me, probably my favorite design since the e36.
Hey look, more of the same..
Subaru takes it hands down of the whole lot above!
^^
Gah, I really don't get why Acura went to that corporate grill. It makes all of their products look like they have an eggtooth.
I think it looks great!
Particularly I love the fact they are going back to having all the series look similar to each other ala e30/e34/e32.
They are kind of going back to their roots here, on top of that any of their cars is identifiable as just a BMW... On top of that, the F10 and the F30 are both amazing looking cars.
I am going to make a bold claim, that the f30 is this millenium's e30...... god needed a new chariot, he decided to upgrade to something thats not falling apart and making farting noises down the street having satan laughing at him.

Really like the more upright grille. That harkens back to the classic "sharknose" BMWs. Nice.
Not totally sold on the tear ducts. They're not hideous, though.
Really glad it's lighter, even if it is bigger. Good job, BMW.

I agree, that is the most distinguishing design aspect of the F30. I'm actually a bit surprised BMW actually went for that look since BMW tend to be very conservative for it's design with the 3 series. So that headlight connection to the grille is actually a rather bold design (or retro) in that respect. So personally, I think that is one design aspect that departs from the "sausage" look it shares with the 5 and 7 series.
Looking at the headlights, it does have hints from the Z4 and as well as the vision efficient dynamics car, it also kind of reminds me of the recently facelifted jaguar xf. All in all, a look with more aggression and passion than the E90, but at the same time, not too aggressive as to put off the folks who likes understated German designs.
Now the most important and crucial question, how does the car perform and handle?

YES OMFG WHY IS EVERY CAR GETTING FATTER?? THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME NOW!!!. I LOVE, AND OWN A, 3 SERIES BMW BECAUSE THEY ARE SLIM, SEXY, SMALL-MIDSIZE CARS PACKING POWER, NOT FAT COMMODORE LOOKING PIECES OF SHIT THAT TAKE UP ONE AND A HALF LANES AND SCREAM LOOK AT ME I CAN FIT A FUCKING CIRCUS INSIDE. MAKE THEM SLIM AND SEXY AGAIN!!, IF WE WANT A FAT CAR WE WOULD JUST BUY A 5 SERIES.Originally Posted by Karl Hungus

Do excuse the caps but i really thought they would put the next gen 3 series on a diet not a free year supply of maccas.
I will admit however that if on some other planet i liked fat cars, id still go for the 3series but thats not what planet im on atm.
The e46 is the best looking 3 series and might be the last good looking 3 series by the looks of things.
Has there been some kind of management change or design team overhaul recently?? bmw have brainfarted everywhere.
