For the E38, I'm only going to do the 2" drop on the 19s. I've had daily drivers, however, with only an inch or so of clearance (both air cooled VW bugs and cars like my '62 Falcon.) My current custom project is a '63 Mercury Comet convertible that will lay frame.

If it's too low, you're too old!

    Yeah, I can drive them.
Whats the fuss. It just another BMW on the edge of becoming rice. Low cars are passe. Stretched tires are unsafe and becoming the ......style of another "minority" group. I wouldn't want to ride in it for any period of time. Guess I'm just getting too old.

Rice is and always has been cheap economy cars trying to look like expensive performance cars. Why people now insist that it means any car customized in a fashion they don't approve of is beyond me.

    Low cars are passe.
So a trend that has been around cince the '40s is JUST NOW becoming passe to you? Sorry, but you're wrong. Your opinion is based on a mistaken notion and lack of knowledge. It's your right to HAVE that opinion, but it's my right to tell you it's wrong.

Guess I'm just getting too old.
    Apparently.

Designers draw cars low. As long as car design exists, low cars will always look better:

And besides hot rods and customs, until cars like this look like 4x4s, the trend will contine.

Lowering a car is one of the few styling trends that can be adapted to every genre of car and not be "played out."

Stretched tires really aren't my thing either. I didn't think a 255 would end up stretching on a 9.5" wheel... But anyways, I went with coilovers for the handling benefits, and because I love how it rides. Rice would be cut springs, altezza tails, nasty ebay headlights, universal aluminum wing, ghettofab air intake, unpainted body kit, etc...

So true. Using their definition of rice, m-pars are rice. (I don't 'approve' of m-pars)
