friend's m3 making funky noise in the rear

went for a ride in my buddy's 98 m3 today and on bumps or moderately sharp turns there's a sqeaky sound coming from the rear.......my guess is new struts but then again, im not that knowledgeable oh vehicle maintenance and was curious on what bf.c diagnosis is on the issue and what the cost of repair might be.

    thanks

Squeeky sound coming from the rear could be several things. Check the shocks, which is easy enough. Just compress the corners and if the car gives out to easy then he needs new shocks. If not the shocks then have a look at the rear trailing arm bushings. Those things ALWAYS need to be replaced if still the originals and the car is over 80k miles.
