go talk directly to a tech at the dealer. Generally they'll do it for a case of their favorite beer.

Takes like 5min. but you need a GT1 which few independents have.

I went to the dealer to have mine done and the GT1 could not do it for some reason. I went to a idependent that had the older sss bmw tool and that worked on it.

Its not an EWS problem if the car is starting.
