The fact that I haven't beat you at autox is testiment to my weak sauce driving skills and is a disgrace to the e21 community.
An extra 1000 lbs of curb weight, a big fat 383 sitting between the fenders, and 500 ft-lbs of torque are all big disadvantages to you in autox. Even with your 345's you're just a smoke show.
I'm hoping the poly CAB's along with relocated control arms will improve the front suspension geometry enough to be more confidence inspiring.
That is exactly why you should be blowing the IROC-Z badges right off my doors. I suspect the gap will be narrowed once you get the suspension done. I also have more like 525lbsft now after the re-build, which will probably not make the car any faster for auto-x use but is always handy for beating up on ricers, and we can all agree on that.
Thanks for welcoming me. I'm a good friend of Josh's and I'm here to learn and help stir creative juices is good threads like this one. If I can ruffle a few feathers in good fun then I'll do that too.Originally Posted by BoostedE21

Sorry for the thread hijack, back to bushing discussions......

FIN!
Hopefully Steph will be shipping this set off to Josh for fit tomorrow. Then the rest will be completed.
That is all.
PS... I hate cutting Poly... it gets everywhere. I made the inner OD a little wide because the stuff is somewhat compressable and I want a tight fit in the control arms.

very nice

The set for Josh's fit check shipped yesterday. I am trimming down the raw stock into usable slugs right now. By end of next week the others should be hitting the shipping dock.
Awesome. I'll keep you posted on fit.
P.S. I hate polyurethane I had to buy more stock just to get the orders out that I have. I scrapped a full 4 inches of the stuff just figuring out the right cutting setup on the lathe.
Hmmm, Very interested... How long is this gonna go on for??? But wait a min do they fit an e36?
The equivalent parts for an e36 ARE easy to install. You can buy them pre-installed in a factory bushing carrier and bolt the entire assembly straight onto the car. The bushing taps onto the end of the control arm pretty easily and bolts to the framerail. If you're not replacing the control arm you're done.
I did my e46 for about $250 with bushings, carriers, and control arms all in one package.
I'm heading out to work on it right now.
YOU should be working on tuning your motor. FYI, you're a festering scrotum cyst discharge....
cancerous... with hair... and teeth. mmmm.
well while you jokers were clowning around I went into the shop and machined one side of the slugs and drilled the center hole to 7/8 for the rest of the people who want these things. Got about 9 of them done. This is time consuming.
Bushing's look great, worth paying a few extra bucks for, peace out Joe M.
Estimated delivery date for Josh's bushings is tomorrow. The slugs are all done and ready for final machining as soon as Josh gives me the go-ahead. I have a 4 day weekend this weekend so I'm hoping to get most if not all of them done. I ran out of material to complete the order, but I've ordered more.
