Thread: Built in Fault Code Reader!!

    I came across this while surfing the web.. It is really cool, it allows you to deisplay saved fault codes from your car without the need of any special reader. All you do is count the check engine light flashes. Check it out..

    It's nice, but thise method (I'm pretty sure) only works with OBD I vehicles (95 and down). All US vehicles made after 95 were equipped with OBD II diagnostics which required a standardized scan tool.

    can't figure out these diagnostic codes

    I know how to get the computer to display the codes, but I don't get how to decipher them. Can anyone help me?

    its like morse code

    it will be flash flash pause flash flash flash flash pause

    that would be code 24
