Indeed, thank you for your answer. So if I want to use this pressure switch, I need to install a motor wiring loon from a manual car.

What about the DME ? Is it possible to reflash it with the manual software and we are good to go ? Because I don't know if the MSS50 (manual version) and MSS50.1(smg version) use the inputs/outputs pins in the same way ..

Or the only possibility is to use an other DME from manual car ?

Thank you for the help !

My SMG works fine but I would like to go back to the old driving style with a manual gearbox, feel more connected with the car.

    Zonde man! Zottekes amai!

na seriously, it's a shame. I love shifting as well, but when I got my SMG, I was afraid I would miss clutching. Truth is, I didn't at all. Even surprised me. I think it's a very cool and unique system and when it works, it's a joy to drive.

I don't know much about converting SMG's and if you can use the DME and stuff.

Guys, I have a question. My conversion is now complete and am totally in love with my car again, but since the conversion my climate control unit has been playing up. Meaning that sometimes i have control then some times i dont. Could my mechanic have shorted something or pulled on a wire that he shouldn't have?

Just read this entire thread... wow, great job guys! Before starting a thread in the e46 section I thought I was bump this thread as the answer is most likely quite obvious. I have a 3.2 SMG from my RHD e46 M3 and I was wondering if it is essentially the same gearbox as the e36 SMG 6 speed? The conversion is identical with all the components matching. I am not too concerned about the electrics at this point as the gearbox is going into my other car which isn't a Bimmer.

Hi, I am currently converting my e36 m3 98 mod. from SMG to manual. But im not sure what to do with the Cruise control? The car was originally delivered with it. But how do i get it to work when i stop using the SMG system?

There is no set up on the original wiring for the clutch switch..

    Regards

Answered it yesterday on the other forum. Same answer applies to this forum.

Bigger picture (more context) would help, but that looks like the selector shaft that is operated by the SMG gearbox actuator.

Hey, I read all the threads, but I didn't find two answers. I have a bmw converted from smg to manual. Ever since I got it, I have a problem with slightly waving revolutions, I can't see it on the indicators, I just feel it. I have no power loss, the result on the dyno is perfect. I have no problem with the car turning off, I also don't have a gear and clutch indicator (PIN 19 and 80). Electric harness SMG, DME also SMG, DME SMG thrown. Instruments changed to manual. First question: what can cause the rev wave when changing to manual? The second is whether the lack of gear and clutch sensors can cause this. I changed soft DME to manual and nothing changed. And the last question, are pins 19 and 80 in DME SMG and Manual the same? Can I try to bridge these two pins?
