    Question Continental ContiExtremeContact??

Anyone have any experience with the Continental ContiExtremeContact tire?

I was looking at tire rack and it seems to meet my primary criteria of good ride comfort, high tread wear, and decent price. It is rated very high accross all catagories by customer feedback.

My ride is primarly a weekend driver, summer only, and I very rarely drive at the limits, so super high performance and all season tires are not my concern. I currently have 225/50/16 Pirelli P6000, which I hate and my wife complains that they are to rough riding. I don't want to spend a ton on tires, but I also don't want something that is going to wear out in 15-20K miles.

The other tires I was looking at:
    Sumitomo SRIXON4 and HTR+

Yokohama AVS ES100 - I like the tread pattern, but I think the ride will be to rough

Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 - I like low prices, but I think they will wear out to quickly and also ride to rough

    Suggestions/thoughts anyone?

The Sumi HTR+ are very quiet, ride VERY softly, and are even grippy.

Turn in sucks, but if comfort is your goal, then they're an excellent option. (And if P6000s are too rough, you clearly need ultra-soft tires.)

I went from P6000's to ES100's and the ES100's were a huge improvement. As soon as i drove off I noticed how much softer they felt, but they stick so much better.

Might be a good all around tire for your needs, though i'm not sure about the tread life..

I would say ES100's or Kumho MX's. I've also heard good things about the Dunlop SP9000's.

I would NOT get the 712's. Sumitomo's -- no experience. I've used Conti'sExtremeContact on a 330i. They wore out in 14K miles. I do not know if you consider that short-tread life; but, we were pretty aggressive with them. They handle great ... but, at the mid-point...tendency to hydroplane a bit to much IMHO. Turn-in was a little disconnected for me.

Not as great of a grip in dry/wet than the Kumho MX's. Just my two cents. I have not used the ES100's consistently. I've driven on them for two HPDE's. They handled well. Stuck well... I did one HPDE in standing water and rain .... and no problems ... no hydroplaning, etc... during the dry, stuck really well around the cars ...

Gives good feedback I think ... because unlike the S03 ... the S03 grips and grips and grips and then You've lost it ... no warning at all ... but with the ES100's ... I noticed that it started warning me with tires a-screeching if I was pushing it pretty hard
