Where is a good place get them in a spray can? I want to paint the new spoiler and the lip spoiler. Thanks ya'll.
Evan
I have the hardest time trying to find perfect color paint for my artic silver m3
I think there are at least 2 places online where you can get them in a spray can for about $20/each. You just select your car and color code and they have it. The only problem is I can't remember who they are.
Buttuh -- you suck! ... if you remember, can you post it.
You might want to pm/email Russ (kapolani). He is having some body work done and I know they've already mixed the artic silver paint for him to do his front and rear bumpers.
I saw it last night ... PERFECT match... seriously ...
I have titanium silver; but, I was going to paint my moldings with the artic silver color to give the car a bit of a contrast ... just to try it out...if I don't like it, I can always throw my other moldings back on.
You might want to ask him if the shop would be willing to sell him a gallon or two ... and then just purchase it from him... just a thought
Man.. stop pressuring me. I'm pulling my hairs out here trying to remember the URLs for those place.
Buttuh...I've got 'em for you:
www.paintscratch.com
www.towerpaint.com
I haven't ordered from either one, but I might in the near future.
1996 Hellrot on Modena M3
1991 Imola on black 318is
: Thank you thank you... I think I'm going to cry. Well, ok not really.
Now that I think about it, the URLs don't sound familiar at all so I pretty much had no chance of remembering it.
hmm.. what's the difference between laquer and enamel? Which one do I need?
laquer is what the bmw touch up paint comes with.
the guy who painrd my grill surrounds matched the paint exactly. I still have a tiny bit of paint left for small touch ups.
get the enamel from tower paint,.
just call them and order it on the phone,. they are actually informative,. ask them q?s
JOE
CAR IS SOLD.
THIS IS WHAT IS LEFT.
HID fogs w/ 3000k bulbs
thanx
cant you just get the paint from the dealer? im sure that would match
--Eric
dealer only sells the small touch up bottles and not in a spray can. Plus they charge an arm and a leg for that stuff.
Im thinking of repainting my front lip also with the color matched spray paint but how do you go about prepping the fiberglass? I'm pretty sure you'd have to sand them down first to get a smooth finish. Do you also have to use clear coat after you paint it?
What it used to look like
Yeah you'll have to sand, primer, sand, wet sand and then spray. Clear coat, wet sand and polish.
Which grit sand paper do u use and where do i get some?Originally posted by buttuh

Here at the shop it's 500 wet to 800 wet. Primer, 800 wet again then spray. Clear coat, 1500 wet and polish. That's assuming that your surface is good to begin with. If you have scratches and stuff like that, then it starts out 220 wet to 400 to 500 to 800 and to 1500 all wet. Then primer and the rest is the same.
Check out The Paint Store, off Avery Parkway or Crown Valley, I forgot.
They can custom mix spray paint cans that will color match your needs. Costs about $30 for both the color you want and an automotive clear coat spray paint can.
Never heard of those places in LA. Where are they to be exact?Originally posted by 02Super

I wanted some in a can, and ordered it from Joel at www.eurodepot.com i believe is the site. I know thats the name of the place. I needed Titanium Silver for my 98 328i...matched perfectly!!!
Those street names are actually in Orange County, because I saw that Buttuh was from O.C.Originally posted by E36Eric

Sorry, I know it was confusing because my profile says LA.
Yeah crown valley down in Mission Viejo.
anybody know a place around santa clarita/valencia? (just north of LA) i need to paint my body kit and i would rather do it myself then spend 600+ to get it done professionaly. mine is alpine white. i did some paint work before on the stock skirts with some alpine white paint cans i bought from autozone but it didnt come out that great of a match. thanx in advance
I am having my car repainted alpine white. If you want to drop your kit off at the shop here I can get it painted all at the same time that way you can save yourself some money.
