I am sorry but that is a wrong assumption. The rims are not bent, and yes I understand one has rash on it. I honestly priced these from what my brother said and when the market looked like. Not too many examples to find an accurate price from. and by the way that is your definition of rare. Tell that to the 18 inch style 5 guys.

With these wheels that makes a big difference due to the rarity factor.
Not agreeing with the price, but they are not a common wheel, and they are his to sell. No one has to buy them for his price. Look good man, good luck with the sale.
    Thank You.

Garrett I have respect for you and how you priced your MAE Crown Jewels, and as much shit as you got for them, I never posted against the price or the styling. You do what you want, and I expect my price and product receive the same respect that I gave.

The wheel clearly has a bend in its lip...That is only what is visible to the naked eye.

Obviously something is wrong if so many are arguing it, many of them much more knowledgeable. GL with the sale.

    it's no E30 :/
well, since this is an open forum for opinions, I'll chime in. I think IMO these are ones of the ugliest wheels you can put on an E36 regardless if they are $50 or $400 each.

That is not a bend. That is bad curb rash, what looks like a bend is actually no metal so that the tiny lip circling the rim is completely gone, which in turn does not affect the tire holding air, but does need to be refinished.

As ugly as they are they cost $4,400 new (What I was told), are 3 piece, have polished lips, are in pefect shape and ARE rare wheels. I mean I constantly get potential buyers thinking that theyre redrilled Benz wheels because no one else has seen the three pieces in a BMW fitment...

Again I <3 you hootie, me no fight. Much love and GL with the sale.

No, type A's are not RARE as in impossible to find, but it's not like 1/2 the other wheels out there. You can't buy them, and you can't just bring ebay up and get another set in 17". Yeah, there's usually one set for sale here and there, but you know they're not "common".

And to end the price debate.. they're his wheels, he can ask what he wants for them. If you find them cheaper, don't complain, just buy the cheaper ones.
I dont know about that, I have seen a few sets mounted on cars under 3k for sale locally, I guess no one is bothering to try and sell them separate

Wasn't trying to argue, just saying that basically they're only for sale at the price the consumer is willing to pay for them.

too harsh i think...the op isnt asking you to prove anything... you might have all the money to waste by buying a set of rims you dont even like just to prove a point...

...but since you made the statement, i'd be very interested to find out if it's all talk and no walk... when should we see them rims on your car?

    Thanks for the compliments.

But, just so you know, I bought mine for $1800 shipped from Germany.
My 17x8.5s are also et12 which have a larger lip, and a little more rare.
Even though I know how everyone is hating on the term "rare."
Im just letting you know the difference. But, good luck with the sale.
Theres a lot of people on here getting to heated over these wheels.
Im thinking about just selling them so people will quit bitching an crying.
    Good day!

He was just illustrating a point. Digitalwave has fit more rare oddball size wheels on his car than a lot of people, no use trying to call him out.

I know how to buy and how to sell. I've made a substantial amount buying, fixing, and selling cars. I'm lucky enough to have a father who is into the same things as I am and is willing to help out when I need it.
But please, do not talk about shit you have no damn clue about.

And to some of you guys, these wheels are rare, whether they're worth the OP's asking price is up to him, and the buyer; but to deny their rarity (no, they're not unobtainable, but they're indeed a rare set of wheels.. you CANNOT buy them anymore, and not too many sets were made) is stupid.
Thanks for showing us all how detached you are from reality. When you're in high school, there is absolutely nothing wrong with working in a grocery store. I flipped signs when I was 14 to pay for my R/C hobby...until you become independent, you shouldn't be too proud to take any job, with the obvious drug-dealer/porn star/etc exceptions.

I hope you don't get rid of the wheels, just because some people on here. They are going to look sick when you're done with them, and I'm excited to see your updated look, so no selling.

not really sure if he was illustrating a point or not... i read it as he'll buy it not because he likes it but to prove a point to the op regarding a price... my post was not to call him out, i believe he can pay for it...

...but I, myself, would definitely not post something like that since i can honestly say that i cannot afford it.. unless im full of BS.

Oh and these Borbet A's will forever be known as Conflict Wheels... I hope you heartless bastards know that next time you buy some Type A's off eBay... they were probably sold because of this thread, and because of someone being a victim of an E-fight.

I want to buy your Nikon 80-200mm F/2.8 AF-D (Two-Ring) lens! Let me know.
