What to pay for an 06 M3 conv. with 8,500 miles on it....

I used to have a fully loaded 05 M3 coupe.....stupidly sold it. I am currently selling my 06 330i and was torn between the 06 Z4 roadster or 06 M3 convertable. Both would be CPO with low miles. I am definitely feeling the love for the M3 more though I found a Carbon Black/Black 06 M3 Conv. loaded with all the factory goodies (no mods from the owner) with only 8,500 miles on it. Dealer is asking $52,500 for it. Seeing as this is truly a buyer's market and I am sick of stealerships trying to screw it to the consumer.....is it more reasonable to offer a KBB private party value for this car? Or, go even lower below the belt than that? Advice and help is really appreciated!

M3 prices are starting to plunge. I'd just wait another few months. The new M3s are driving the E46 prices down. Doesn't help that the economy sucks and a lot of ppl will be unloading luxury items they no longer can afford.

I too am waiting for that perfect Alpine M3 Vert 04-5 with low miles and CPO. Prices are hitting lows 30s on those. I suspect they will be in the mid 20s by years end if things keep going the way they are.

Seriously?? The thing is that I have 3-4 weeks to find a car because that is when my 330i will be transferred to a new owner.

I'd offer 42k and not a penny more.

That is along the lines of what I was thinking too.......I think they would tell me to pound sand though for $42K INCLUDING tax/lic/fees.......doesn't hurt to try, I can always walk and let the car sit there and collect dust with it's 52K price tag on it right?

That price is way too high. Get it in the mid 40's and you should be good... I highly doubt a dealer would go lower than that...

Screw them, only an idiot will buy it for 50.5

Give them your phone number, your price, and tell them to call when THEY'RE ready.

Seriously....he was such an a$$...saying "It won't be here long, you really should come drive it today." Sometimes it really sucks being a chick because car sales guys always assume you know nothing and you are a sucker or a complete idiot KWIM? He told me he has "tons" of interest in it at his $52K price tag. Whatever.....good luck selling it. He told me there was NO WAY he could go lower than $50.5K...let's see how long it collects dust shall we?

Hey Cowboy05m3...I PM'd you about your car...never heard back.

You might be able to talk to a different salesman. When I was back in the Navy I took a guy to buy a car he was looking at. They were asking $22k for a Mustang and the guy offered $19k for it and the salesman lowered it to $21.5k. He stood up from the desk, walked across the showroom, pulled out the bank check, handed it to another salesman and said "If you can sell me that mustang for $19k and include taxes and tags then you can have this check."

He ended up walking out of there and paying right at $19.2k for everything.

For such a new car, I think you could get a steal at an auction (using a buyer's broker)

50k is way over the top with the new M3 on the streets already. I'd just let them sit on it until they are so deep under that they'll have to give it away and take a loss. Just look on autotrader. There are so many M3s available for sale. Its a joke.
