528i Ticking rattle sound? please help

I have a 1998 528i with a supersprint muffler and y resonator delete. I am getting a annoying ticking rattle sound coming from underneath my car towards the engine area. I thought for sure it was an exhaust leak because it kind of sounded like slight diesel sound at idle in close quarter areas to have sound bouncing off close to me. My father looked underneath and tightened i noticable gap leak but that didnt seem to fix the problem. the sound is louder with acceleration its very annoying i cant hear it inside with windows rolled up but when i have the down its very noticable for me. it seems to ruin the nice sound of my exhaust set up. doesnt seem to be affecting performance so i hope its not anything major. any ideas on what i could be????????

If you had a noticable gap leak at the exhaust manifold, then the hot gasses have cut a path through the gasket. You need to replace the gasket.
