This is my car that I have right now. Perfect candidate http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/pts/5783038573.html
So it's time to sell my 1999 E36 convertible LS swap. It's been great for three summers. I'm building a C3 project.
But this is a little bit different.
I'm selling everything but the LS1, T56 and computer.
It's been a great swap. 99 vert with zero rust. Not one speck.
I copied the JTR engine mounts. Built the headers. Built the exhaust. Dual cats. Big Magna Flow center two in two out center muffler and rear two in two out magna flow muffler.
Includes 255 fuel pump Rally Road upgrade. All new fuel lines. Corvette fuel filter regulator. Stainless braided lines.
H&R sport suspension with Bilstein shocks. H&R sway bars. New front lower a-arms with new ball joints and poly bushings. New power rack. New tie rod ends. New front wheel bearings. All new brake pads and rotors.
245 x 18 all around. Enkei wheels.
Again no rust. I had the front bumper, fenders and hood repainted due to the rock chips. Slight color difference from the left fender to the left door. Someone door dinged me right below the left mirror.
3.91 posi rear end. Includes drive shaft with new u-joints.
I deleted the ABS. Mishimoto radiator. All new hoses. Relocated the heater valves.
The convertible top is original and is great shape.Needs a new rear window. I think the top was in the boot most of the time so it's creased.
Power windows work great. Interior is really nice. Stock speedo and tach. I added a oil pressure, water temp and volt meter gauges to the cubby hole under the radio. No cracks to the dash. Steering wheel is good. Console is nice.
245 x 18 all around. Enkei wheels. E46 330 front 13" disc brake conversion.
I can't see where it's ever been hit. No rattles or any weird stuff. I did not hook up the AC but have the hoses and Camaro AC compressor and brackets.. Add your engine and trans you are good to go. It's running and driving as I type this. It will take about 2 weeks to pull the engine and trans.
Have all receipts.
Happy to send pics as needed. If you are MN let's go for a ride.
Price reduced to $10,000.
I'm in Carlos Mn.

It's a BBk aluminum intake- came with the motor.
Price reduced to $10,000.
Thanks for the offer. All the swap parts will go with the car. Not ready to part out.
Spring is getting closer. I may have to drive it another summer.
E36/LS1 CL Find.
No affiliation. Know nothing about it.

1993 325is
224k miles
M-Contour wheels, lowbeam projector headlights, factory limited slip, surprisingly few cosmetic flaws on the car
I purchased as a swap candidate but decided to buy a C5 instead. Needs clutch & hydraulics, one tire, and a battery to drive. Needs suspension and brake refresh, belts, and hoses to be a reliable DD. I can provide a parts list from the shop.
Asking $1,000 as she sits or $400 for the diff and $750 for the car.
If I needed another car...I'm up to 6! Dang it....

My swap is up for sale: https://www.panjo.com/buy/1996-hellr...version-369103
I think it's priced reasonably...The wheels/tires alone are worth $1500-2000.
I would like it gone by November. I don't have a good place to store it this Winter.
Edit: price lowered. 12500.

For an e46 m3 LSx swap candidate, do you guys think it would be better to:
A: Buy a decent condition, running, fairly low mileage car with the intention of selling the motor/trans?
ie.: $14k for the running car minus roughly $4-6k for engine plus trans would put you at $8-10K and you would have something with lower miles on the chassis. Obviously for this option there is the headache of selling the parts and the up front out-of-pocket cost.
OR
B: A non running/ high mile car and save money up front?
ie.: high mile car or a car with bad motor or trans for $5k - $7,500
I'm just starting to look at all the numbers so I may be off a little bit on the estimates but this seems to be what s54 motor/trans are bringing on ebay at least.
Also, should there be any consideration of smg/ 6MT for the candidate? Either way I would be swapping a t56 but it seems SMG cars can be had for less money up front. Of course the smg motor trans will have less resale value once pulled and I would have to modify the SMG car for 3 pedal, manual shifter, etc...
Hands down buy the nicest car you can find/afford. You’re building a car you are going to want to drive. If you can deal with the cosmetic and interior issues of a cheap car go for a cheap one. If you want a nice presentable car buy as nice as you can. The little stuff adds up after you spend the money to swap the car. My 95 M3 I started with was a crap box. I bought a really nice 99 M3 and was much happier with the end result. You’ll have to fix the small stuff or it will already be done. You spend more on the front end but I think you come out ahead in the end. Focusing more of your cash towards the swap.
Considered snagging this e39, but decided to hold out for a touring. Messaged the seller briefly, seems to be in good shape inside and out, and he says no rust. Not mine / no affiliation.
