Hey Guys, I recently put in a new s50 engine turbo'd and swapped out my auto to a manual tranny. I went to start the car and the starter just spins freely. I took off the starter and bench tested it and it was fine. It seems like the flywheel is too far for the gears to engage? I am at a lost is their a spacer or something that i may have put on wrong to push the flywheel farther away? Any help would be awesome!
thanks
Are you positive that the starter was installed properly?
Did you install a new clutch/flywheel?
Yes i did a spec stage 3
thats what happens when you Frankenstein a car.
Time to push start it! =P
if that is the case what flywheel do you recommend shouldn't any work?
Which flywheel do you have in there presently? Did you try to keep the one from your automatic transmission?
No i used the one that came from the rebuilt engine
ok.
go measure the diameter of your flywheel from tooth to tooth.
I will anyway to easily do that without dropping the tranny lol
in millimeters?
What motor was the rebuilt engine?
Which tranny are you using? ZF or Getrag?
it it the same as my old one an s50 bored out I am using a 95 zf tranny I took the starter to 2 places to test they adn they said it was good both times
