Thats the pump I used but I didn't find any kit, I just ordered the fittings I needed from Jegs. Summit would have the same I'm sure.

Would you do it the same way if you had to do it again?

    Yep.

If I was to get elaborate I'd pretty much do Carl's setup. He did a great job. Not sure of his username at the moment, but you can find his M Coupe build within the next few pages.

Hey Chris, were you pretty much convinced you HAD to run a scavenge pump? Did you look at any options (creative drain line), or were you pretty sure you were gonna from the get go?

    Jim,

I pretty much just assumed as it was cheap insurance. I'd rather run a $150 pump and some fittings than sacrifice a $1250 turbo. Maybe if you got creative, you could make it work. Not sure though.

    Good luck!

Except for that whole cracking thing :

A scavenge pump isn't necessary for every manifold design, but with the 666 one you are placing the turbo a bit lower than some of the log style manifolds.

You can probably get away without using it, but to some people (like me)...it's worth a few hundred dollars to have the peace of mind that a) your car won't smoke and b) to minimize any future time spent under the car wrenching on minor things.

if the turbo placement is such that it doesn't need a drain, adding a pump is only going to add a failure point. A turbo that doesn't need a drain but has a pump on its return line will have issues when the pump fails.

the electric pumps are fairly reliable. annual replacement should keep it in its safe life expectancy.
