Aftermarket Stereo Head Unit for BMW E92. Wow!!! (requesting pics of your E92 units)

I just saw an E92 with an in dash, aftermarket DVD Navigation system. He was watching a movie while driving.

What aftermarket stereo headunit do you have in your E92? I would love to see some photos.

The only downside is the screen blocks the centre air conditioning vents.

You can also kiss your bluetooth and BMW Assist goodbye.

Can you adapt the stock Navigation to play DVD's ? I know on the Mercedes you can.

I'm sure you can, most EURO cars have TV tuners in the NAVI. The Prius I had in Japan had TV tuner built in.

I saw some kits for the E46 Nav last year, I figured at that time that the E90 was too new, but I'm sure it's the same system as in some of the other models. I think the reason why it's not included in the states is the whole safety thing.

I had a Navi / DVD HU in my old car. 99% of the time it's used as a navi unit. I only played DVD on that screen no more than 10 times. I find it very distracting with the flashing lights coming from the monitor.

I don't think I would be OK with losing the bluetooth and BMW assist. I think the Logic 7 system sounds nice...unless you're a true audiophile and I don't know many, you're simply throwing money away on stereo equipment with little to no resale value...put your money into a home system that will allow you to enjoy the sound...afterall...cars are not really that "noise insulated" and you're never going to get that home sound experience...just my opinion....besides, I'd rather hear my engine sing to me.

I would argue putting an aftermarket unit will generally hurt your resale value.

Hey, people tailgate minivans and SUVs to do it, might as well do it in your car and not tailgate, I'd say less dangerous.

    (P.S. Note the sarcastic smiley).

If you're willing to watch a movie while driving, why not just go all out and get an LCD in your steering wheel with an accelerometer and have video game controls put into the steering wheel. You can watch movies this way too.
